With the Valhalla chipset on the way I think a slim 360 is likely. Microsoft just recently reduced there SKU's down to two $199 and $299 and I can see them doing it again in the Future, here is how i would like them to go.

i'm really going out on a limb here too so just bare with me but for a slim 360, I say take that Valhalla chipset (smaller, cooler etc) and redesign the HDD so that like the PS3 any 2.5" hdd can be inserted.

Take out the disc drive (DUn dun d...

Blu-ray is the future....:P

@FragMnTagM; The SD group announced back at CES (a day before Sony announce this if i recall) there next format, that being SDXC and it pretty much has the same abilities as this will/does/have so no worries.

@gold5225; Unfortunately no we can't, not yet anyway. That 1TB drive from WD is 12.5mm. It will not fit in the PS3 drive bay. Boo. Still this just means the 9.5mm drives that one would need to put in a PS3 can't be that far off. Huzza...

I agree Cherrypie. These blind ignorant pro-blue fanboys just don't get it. There are far more people who do not want to buy there movie collections over and over again every time a new format comes out. Not too mention buying new equipment all the time just to take advantage of it. It gets old very fast.

Please insert insults and other comments here;

Thank you

No. Downloading is the future. Blu-ray is the present.

Your kidding right? Did you actually mean to say you would support a RETAILER over the people who actually make games? Do you have any idea how retarded you sound?

Retailers are meaningless. I only buy new myself mostly online (very rare from a brick and mortar anymore and with Digital Distribution methods on the rise even less need for retailers) and get this, I only buy the games I want. No one is forcing you to buy anything. Don't agree with the price? don't buy it, you have t...

Agreed and another reason i never play MMO's in general is the fact that after everything you do, when its all said and done, after all the time, money and effort you put into them...you have nothing to show for it.

Disc's have no advantages. Loading times, retail costs, taking up space.

All they do is further add to the overall cost of gaming.

@ punisher
It's called renting or playing free demo's. Try before you buy. Also you must be pretty stupid if you think buying a game on disc and then trading it in for a small % of what you paid for it is a good thing.

I guess i'm just one those who buys only the games he wants.

As a gamer i'm at a complete...

You really can't spell ignorant without IGN. Why would anyone who already has a PSP buy a PSP-Go? I just can't figure this out. The PSP-Go isn't really doing anything the current PSP's can't do. All the Go really offers is a smaller lighter package for those who are on the uh..go...a lot. This is the only demographic i can see this product catering too.

Am i the only one who knows that you can still download games off the PSN store and play them on current PSP's?

If ...

Just curious why would you wonder about your UMD's if you ALREADY have a psp that plays them? What you buy systems for the hell of it?

IF Sony were to address this I would imagine some kiosk setup in store to help transfer them but as I said why would you buy a system you already own?

I like the design of this and I LOVE the fact they got rid of UMD. Get over it folks it's a useless format and it was never a good idea to begin with. battery drain, moving parts in a p...

I was waiting for a sarcastic remark towards Digital Distribution as it always seems pop up in these pro blu-ray articles. Glad to see i wasn't disappointed.

Even more funny that a big feature of Blu-ray is that of ONLINE content.

Whatever, FM4 was great including the story. I wish we got FM5 and I'd like to see the previous FM's brought to PSN! Wishful thinking i know.

I must have read a different article then you guys. The point i got was if a disc based media is so great then why does it use online as a way to deliver content?

I guess i'm the only one but t i could care less about any medium, all i want is the content. And why can't 1080p PCM lossless audio not be delivered over the internet? I have no problem waiting 30mins for a download. it's just 0's and 1's people. the disc is just a medium. get over it.

Been using Apple products for over a year now and never had a single issue. In the 15 years of using M$ products i always had problems.

I disagree. When (about a year ago) I bought my iMac i did a price comparison as close as I could to a PC equivilent just for giggles, I found no difference in price. The thing with macs though is that they RETAIN there value. So yeah if i were to do a search now then that same PC setup will be cheaper then my current iMac.

And since macs can run windows the whole argument about lack of software (even though mac has plenty) is just thrown right out the window (no pun intended :P)...

Yeah so good they had to mark it down to $10. :P

(yes i know this sale includes other systems too, it's just a joke put the pitchforks and torch's down people)

You are completely wrong on all your points except 4 and 5.

There is nothing wrong with re-releases or remakes as it often introduces a new generation to great games. And SE has been introducing new IP's the problem is that they keep putting them on a system where there is no market even if that "other" system has a larger worldwide user base.

Just like previous X360 releases I don't this doing well either nor do i ever expect it to come out to North Americ...

"The flash memory would also be great but Sony need to make sure they don't have a hand held that is too expensive. In fact, a non-UMD PSP2 which is expensive wud surely not work, or maybe they could offer 2 SKU's."

You clearly have no clue as to what your talking about. First off a UMD-less PSP2 would work fine.Infact I and many others I assume would welcome it for many reason.

There is also no need at all for internal flash memory. By just storing games o...

Your logic is flawed. This isn't DLC, it's just an activation. REAL downloadable content like that seen in Warhawk is a prime example of how to do it right. This is wrong.

This doesn't mean DLC is a bad thing just because of one companies greed. Wake up.

I love it when window's users say they don't. lol.

It's a known fact if you want to keep windows running smooth you HAVE to re-install that mess of spaghetti code at least once every 3 months. And no i wasn't doing anything wrong or would otherwise compromise the system, it's just how windows works, face it.

The Wii doesn't need a HDD, what it needs is to support SDHC (32GB) which i'm sure it could with a firmware update. Not like there is much worth to download for the Wii anyway but still it would be nice.

Not sure if a firmware could make the SD slot support SDXC (2TB) though. And I really doubt Nintendo is going to go into the movie business.
