The nx being the lead platform on third parties is not going to happen. Unless the nx is a huge success and third parties perform better on the nx than ps4 or xb1. I believe those last two things are a severe longshot when nintendo has so many other things to get right with the nx. If they can somehow pull all this and more off, ill be super impressed with a Nintendo console once again. Not saying its completely impossible, just highly unlikely
I know the hate seems crazy, but speaking directly to nintendo fans that have gamed on their console since the nes, most of us feel shafted. I was still on the nintendo band wagon until after i purchased the wii. Than my love began to fade. I do not appreciate the direction they went with waggle and then the gamepad. The gamecube and ALL prior consoles did not DID NOTTT... Need some new inovative way to play our games to be amazing... Nes, snes, n64, and gamecube all were amazing on their own...
This pod cast is pretty decent as far as speculation about the nx.
1. It makes total sense that nintendo knows the ps4 and xb1 already have a firm grip on the 3rd party dev that they need a strong showing of 1st parties when the nx launches. That includes a mario, a zelda, and wait for ittttt..... A new metroid. These 3 games alone would be huge.

Just think how much more "vast" the wiiu's library would be if they had 3rd party games as well. I honestly cant believe how many dissagrees you have in a nintendo article. Yet, the wiiu is not a powerful console, nor is its library for all gamers of all ages, mostly great to nintendo fanboys only!
The thing is it was just dubbed zeldau when every zelda has never been called zelda super, zelda 64, zelda gamecube orr zelda wii... Which leads me to believe it will get a new unveiling with a proper zelda name instead of the dumb name zeldau. They most likely gave it the name zeldau to help sales of a stagnent console, which cant be debated.
Be called xb4k, 60 fps, kinnect 3.0, great launch titles, and for the love of god stick by your practices out the gate if you say this is what it means to play on xb... No more 180s next gen. Hell do some damn r&d to make sure the majority of gamers are on board with your ideas. Fire anyone whos a cancer for ms making disastrous decisions.
Ppl keep saying the xb2 is a dumb name but do you realize how dumb xb1 sounds? Calling it the xb1 makes no sense when its their third console. I would laugh my ass off if they call it xb2 or xb4.
On topic. It doesnt really matter whats in the box or what they call it, gamers that want it will embrace and those that dont will avoid it like the plague. I keep thinking ms will fire off gen 9 two or three years after nintendo, but we will have to wait and see.

I think even if this generation is shorter (around the 6 year mark) than expected, in sonys 5th year if it gets a 50$ pricecut every holiday, the ps4 will be 200$. Repeating the success of what the cheaper ps2 did on the market with a newer model over twice its price. Im guessing that theres a 10-25% of gamers that are perfectly fine playing their ps3's till the ps4 hits a mass market price and then jump on board with all the updates, all the games, and a slim! It def will, which i didnt think was possible. This generation and how sony is straight up SLAUGHTERING the competition, will make next generation a lot more interesting. Ms and i hope nintendo, will be bringing their A game and take strong cues for what sony did right and they did wrong... Epically wrong in nintys case.

I have only watched videos of ppl plaing axiom verge and reviews on the game that are mostly positive. That being said, no game can replace the itch i need to scratch, exploration, and game mechanics my fav metroid (super metroid) presented.

Yeah, i also see this having a dual release. Anyone with half a brain knew nintendo delayed this for what seems to be an entire year, to give the nx a stronger lineup. The game was announced almost 3 years ago (jan 23rd 2013) and i dont believe it was delayed to "add gaming mechanics" or "for zelda's 25th anniversary". I hope thry have a metroid in the works for the nx as well. God i would love that. 2D or 3D dgaf...
Good for your friend. Although its well documented about probs with ps1,2,3... I still have all my consoles and never have missed a beat. As for xbox, the first one had issues too but mine went to iraq and back not having 1 issue. Than the 360 came and 4 rrod consoles burnt me pretty bad and im sure im not the only one. Arent next generations of consoles considered by more than one factor?
1. Depreciating sales as consoles get price drop after price drop. Once the ps4 and xb1 are in the 150-250 price range theres not much more that can be done to spike sales outside of game releases and slimmer versions of their former selves and these last 2 things only give *temporary spikes in sales.
