Those are not good numbers considering how much effort Sony is trying to hype those games up and how much $$$ they are putting in advertising. Halo sells that much on the first day, and battlefield and COD still outsell it on the PS systems
$400 plus the $50 per year subscription to play online which is a ripoff means overtime a PS4 pretty much cost the same as an equivalent gaming machine or more so. And it would cost less to upgrade a new GPU then buying the next PS5 down the road, since you would need to buy an entirely new machine.
And you can do so much more with a PC, not just a gaming system.

Xbox has been profitable
Too late now to shift to focus to tablet and smartphones. Surface was an epic fail and Apple and Google are too far ahead. Microsoft still makes billions of profit sticking to Windows, Xbox and Office brands. In fact I argue that Microsoft lost focus when it attempted to break into the mobile market. Windows 8 is obvious made with mobile in mind and why so many windows users despised it.

shaders are important. and as any PC gamers can attest better shaders often times produces a hit on performance. sometimes when a game doesn't run perform well on my PC and I have to reduce the shaders in the settings which makes me a sad panda

I find it unlikely. Most people who are going to buy XOne & PS4 have either a 360 or PS3 already. Unlikely they will hold out on the biggest most hyped game ever. Rockstar has been working hard on GTA 5 since the 4th one, so the game is optimized for current gen consoles.
If anything they will probably go full gear and start work on RDR2 or GTA6 and make a true next gen game that takes full advantage of next gen hardware.

Both versions looked the same but PS3 had input lag, which is a pretty big deal on a competitive first person shooter
Player owned servers, is what PC has since ever. i guess people are too used to Peer 2 Peer made popular by Call of Duty
If anything Player owned servers are good because some people have made great playlist. DICe playlist from launched was kinda bad, since a lot of terrible maps were in the rotation.
I have played non-stop since launch and i only really got booted out of a server due to a dbag admin only once, and its not like that doesnt also happen on PC. ...
