Off course the 60 gb is a better deal. It sold out cause it was a better deal than the 40 gb model, wich is a less good deal, agreed sofar?
Overall, the 60 gb hasn't been selling like hotcakes the last month, only the last week, because of the reason above. What makes you think that the "less good deal", will sell better than the "better deal" did?

If the 60 gb is the better deal, then why would the 40 gb model, the less good deal, sell much better than the previously not so good selling better deal?

This means that the people that were waiting to buy a ps3, didn't like the 40 gb and were forced to buy the 60gb version while they still had the chance.
It would have made more sense to wait for the cheaper 40 gb version, if they hadn't bought a 60 gb model at that point. So people must not like it.If this is an average view of the 40gb model, it could mean trouble.

I was talking about how Sony has to sell 500,000 more consoles a month than 360, for over a year. Globally.

If they broke, they also got repaired and went back to their owners. How does that affect the userbase and total sales numbers.? It's not like those consoles dissapeared from the face of the earth.
once this goes down, it will affect you in Canada, and me in Holland. It's not just the American gov., my own government is in on it to, and so are other European govs. Well at least people in high ranked places are, probably in your gov. to.

ps3 needs to sell 400,000-500,000 consoles a month, for a straight year, to even catch up with 360. Simple math, still ps3 fans will deny it.
