Except that hacking a game that was made to be played online is non-trivial, and unlikely to happen. A lot of the game's infrastructure is based on the availability of servers, hence why EA didn't just temporarily patch the game to solve the immediate problem.

Most of these things actually make me want to buy the game lol. I'll wait for the servers to be fixed though.

Ah Eureka.. How I miss that show.

In my opinion most of the complaints people launch towards EA are petty, issues which they wouldn't make a big deal out of if it was any other publisher.

So no, I'm not going to stop buying EA games just because some people are having some issues with SimCity. Sure they made some mistakes, but they're working hard to resolve those and a petition like this one really doesn't help anyone.

AMD doesn't develop games or engines. This is likely a reference to a new product they're looking to bring to the market, likely a hardware accelerated type of lighting solution.

"then Bioware is at fault? for making such a mess of an ending. "

You talk about logic, yet when the ending of a game is crap even after the developer had been granted a delay in order to finish it, with very clear explanations of Bioware following that Casey Hudson had written the ending together with two other people, you blame EA?

Of course Bioware was at fault, they're the ones that wrote the ending. EA never even touched it. Regardless of ...

That's a really superficial observation. The game feels nothing like Uncharted when playing it. Sure it's added a more cinematic feel and scripted events, but it's different in almost every other way.

Aside from an occasional frame drop in cutscenes/QTE, blackface Lara appearing in cutscenes and hair disappearing in cutscenes, I've not experienced any issues on my 560Ti. Might just be the 690. Whilst its max frame rate is twice as high as mine, its lowest framerate (on the benchmark) is four times lower than it is for me. My average sits comfortably at 30 Frames per Second at maximum settings.

Only glitches I've seen so far were in cutscenes, and it's a bit an...

The image was a slide from GDC which can easily be found online through a google search, the digitalbattle numbers can easily be validated, and OnLive is a credible source, since a CEO of a company (who, I might add, is very well respected in the industry) doesn't just pull numbers out of his arse.

1) Inflation doesn't strike from one year on the next, nor does it rise sufficiently much to explain the difference in development costs

I'll ask you the same for everything you just said, considering I'm the only one who provided sources at all. Good luck ;)

They're talking about 600-people teams at Ubisoft to develop a single title. That's up from 200-300 people from current generation titles. The next generation will create jobs, not cut them.

It's not:

And that was just at the start of this gen.

Games are spread over 10 pages, and each page has a 15 minute starcraft video that you have to watch to the end. Nevermind.

"This mentality is the driving force behind the decisions we all rally against this gen. Online passes, day one DLC, on-disc DLC, and now microtransactions and the possibility of always-on DRM appearing on consoles. All of these actions are designed to reap the maximum possible profit regardless of how it may alienate the userbase. "

That's an incorrect assumption. Whilst you've taken a few points into your argument, you've carefully ignored some others....

You call it greed, I call it a way to keep games at their current price point. Things like microtransactions and DLC are the reason games don't already cost $80,- at retail.

"Unpopular IPs"?

Infamous, Killzone, Watch Dogs and Destiny are not unpopular IPs by any stretch of imagination. They may not be Halo, but to say they're unpopular is simply a lie.

And development costs have gone up 10 fold whilst game prices and sales have remained the same. Suddenly there's a problem with your argument.

Visceral IS EA, and has always been. They were formerly known as EA Redwood Shores.

Mass Effect was headed into ME3's direction ever since the first game. If you couldn't see that then you're probably blinded by hatred against EA.
