I feel your pain just bought Witcher 3 GOT, South Park, Assasins Creed, Wolvenstine, Dragons Dogma.
Soon to buy Need for Speed, GT Sport & HZD Frozen Wilds and it's not even x-mas :-p
Same goes for RPG's, Racers, Shooters, Sports... There is not much you can do to change the way a game plays other than implement VR, AR & Motion controls etc... Even then ultimately it will play the same only the input method will change.
More consoles sold = More games & exclusive content. Period.
Beasts that have been around for a while not just turning up to the party. :-p

It was a AAA game in its time. Today is debatable although it does put some modern RPG's to shame.

You are right but remember not everyone cares for 4k or spending more for the same experience. I have a pro and 4k tv so am lucky. But for average people on average wages they will opt for the S or Vanilla PS4, lets face it there are more struggling than well off.
I'm a ps fan and even so for a niche title like this, truly a great feat.
So far the price of the X compared to the PRO is justified imo. Now all we need is Microsoft to make some 1st party exclusives to entice more people to buy. Hopefully in 2 - 3 years we may see that.
