"The three big announcements were the re-reveal The Last Guardian for the PS4, Final Fantasy VII which would be remade for PS4 and PC, and Shenmue 3. However, none of these came with firm release dates, making us wonder if these have been announced too soon."
Too soon ? FF VII was first spectulated in 2005 with the tech demo for the PS3. The Last Guardian was first announced in 2009. And for Shenmue, it's a kickstarter so they needed to start raising funds to ma...
Those guys who give the game a 7 so that they are neither bashing it, or rating it like the others. Because difference draws attention but too much difference draws criticism. SUBTLE !
But that's one 'opinion' among others. So far the game is receiving tons of 9s and 10s so it's GOOD, appearently. Can't wait to play it to judge it by myself !
Of course it does. Remember Watchdogs. It went from NextGen to SuperNintendo.
Not buying in anything Ubi shows anymore, as gorgeous as it looks, until I got the product in my hands to judge.
@SaveFerris.
I meant 360. It was a mistake, I edited my comment.
PC gamers are not really familiar with the Star Ocean series. Plus, releasing on PS4 and PC but not X1 would make no sense. Not to mention that the previous episode was released on X360 and not on PC.
This website is an infinite flow of inspiration.
@Twiggy
I am not denying it ! Not at all. But it's not an easy cash-grab. Remaking one of the most popular RPG of all time is not a simple task. It requires money. It's not like Capcom saying "Hi give us money cause we're remaking a remake of Resident Evil with better graphics"
In this particular case. The amount of work for SE to do something good with this game is COLOSSAL. If it's a success, the money they'll get will be deser...
If it was all about cash, they would have done it years ago when they first talked about it, and they'd have made a simple remaster. Not a full remake. I THINK.
@Hellsvacancy
Still, this kind of petition is ridiculous. I don't like something I don't buy it. I won't be going in a rage-mode and sign petition to CANCEL the game that is not the one I hoped for.
I mean, come on ! I'm calling it overreaction...
And aside the fact that those fans' feelings were hurt, do you think about the people who've been dragged into this and worked hard on the game ? People who invested themselves even though they probably wished to be doing something different.
There are different ways to voice an opinion. This one is, to me, irrespectuous and completely immature.
You're absolutely right. And don't forget Rise of the Tomb Raider which releases in November.
However, 2016 is shaping up to be incredible for Sony, starting with Uncharted 4. And in the meantime, MGS 5 is releasing this year and is most likely going to sell like hot cakes on PS4.
But the title of the article remains the same so I don't see why the one who submitted this changed the headline...
Ico and TGL share so many similarities that it is hard to believe what you just said about either TGL and Ico being your favourite ps2 game.
But that is just my opinion.
I agree on Horizon and UC 4, though.
Journalists....
"So we have a good amount of confidence in terms of this window for next year"
becomes
"Sony isn't 100% sure The Last Guardian will release next year".
Hits, hits, hits.
Team Ico's games story, universe, writing, art style and music are more worth than the best graphics in the world.
And why couldn't niche games or independant games make the list ?
Dark Souls' is niche and it's freaky fantastic AND successful.
As far as I'm concerned, I am cool with any list that includes MGS V, Fallout 4, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian and Horizon. We haven't seen much of FF VII so I cannot judge yet. Same goes for Dishonored 2.
But a brand new franchise like Horizon, with such an incredible universe and exciting prem...
@raWfdog
You are describing a very oldschool kind of turn based system. You can have turn based system with enemies moving and running.
Great ! It's not a rushed game, then. Not that I doubted From Software, but it still reassuring to know that they are really working hard to make something good and not just another random sequel ! Some developpers should take notes.
"“There’s just nothing to talk about right now. We don’t really have anything to say. We appreciate how much people really want it.”
..but we want to keep on milking Assassin's Creed instead of giving people what they've been asking for for years now.
"The dreams of so many shenmue fans lives"
Nowadays, 10 million dollars to make an open world game as grandiose as the first two installments is ridiculous.
So we're clear, I am GLAD that the franchise still lives, but I do think it deserved better than just a kickstarer and additionnal marketing funds from Sony.
