They are just fooling you people. First of all, they did not give any numbers so people dont see the truth and get fooled by PR statements. Secondly, they are talking about only the first 5 days and not overall. MS PR is always full of lies, spins and half-truths just like they were boasting when the Xbox One S released.

If it does then, yes, I will admit I was wrong. But there is no way it will sell 1 million day 1 just simply because the PS4 Pro couldnt do it which is much bigger and popular brand. With a $500 price tag that is impossible.
But we dont have any numbers for Xbox One X so we cant say if it has surpassed the PS4 Pro or not. Who knows how many were available for pre-order in the first five days. Only MS can provide they numbers but they wont because it will break the illusion of success and Xbox One X being a hit.

They are claiming "more" sales than any other Xbox only for a period of 5 days. That 5 days period is the key term here. A $500 mid-gen upgrade will NEVER reach 1 million sales on first day.
No they wont for two reasons. First, it is just a mid-gen upgrade. Second, it is worth $500. They are claiming more preorders for only 5 days and not overall. That is a very small and selective time frame.

It is already almost 4 years into the generation. Most of the major franchises are already out like FFXV, MGS5, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Resident Evil 7, Doom, Destiny, etc. etc. The gen is already winding up with few games coming up except for the yearly milked franchises. It wont be getting much time to flex its muscles before next gen is upon us.

These mid-gen upgrades have VERY small markets given how few people own 4K TVs and how much these consoles cost compared to base versions. Even PS4 Pro sales ratio is only 1 out of every 5 PS4s sold.
