Mass Effect is not a traditional shooter, its first and foremost a RPG, the shooter element helps people to get in but its not the whole game.

Mass Effect doesn't use any CG movies, that and Bioware said they used neat tricks to compress all that stuff into on 1 DVD9
On N4G, I think its best to shoot first and hear later as far as ignore list goes. my list probably has about a hundred or more.(if I see a good comment, I take them out of the list) I regret not doing this earlier, as I was browsing thru the comments last month a usual troll/fanboy spoiled a major plot element of Bioshock for me. I guess that confirms it is FMV. First time I saw Lighting screenshot, I thought it was real-time and I admit I was jealous as I didn't really think then that I would ever buy a PS3. Still from that preview, it has a story that is at least interesting and Square Enix has a good history with FF series.
dont forget about IW's Call of Duty 2, that game was amazing(unlike generic CoD3), its part of reason why CoD4 is so promising.
