Square Enix seems to doing the same thing Namco-Bandai is with the Tales of series in Japan: Release tons of games one after another, to the point where the fans are like, "Which ones do you want us to buy now?".
You'd think they would get that releasing games like crazy hinders their profits. >.>
It's kinda ironic, considering the Nintendo DS is heralded for the install base, yet in terms of sales, games outside of the casual market seem to sell better on the PSP.
Tales Channel has had numerous "mistakes" with having PS3 stuff on there, like when the new layout launched, or when a PS3 Tales appeared on the upcoming games for their financial statements.
I'd doubt they'd pass up an opportunity to get some extra revenue from it (plus, the PS3 has the PSN for the add-on content)
Not that much of a fan of FPS, but getting a good control scheme on a PSP FPS might get other devs to follow suit.
Kinda like how The Conduit might get devs to do better controls on Wii FPS's.
It would be pretty neat if they included a new character in the demo, and then revealed them via a magazine scan later that week. ;)
@Counter_ACT: Yay for baseless Ad hominem attacks. Next time you should try giving a point, instead of a baseless "your site sucks" comment.
I guess none of you guys watch CNBC/Bloomberg/etc. The timeframe for most FF releases would actually fall around the post-April 2010 timeline, you know. ;) Everyone's getting upset because it was announced instead of the usual "SE tells release date a month before the release" that they usually do.
You type o...
@Viper7: It's because Windows is the most widely used OS right now. So obviously virus/malware/etc. authors would target it.
If OSX was the most popular right now, you'd have that being attacked.
Why was this accepted? This is the promotional video that was posted on Tales Channel back when the game was revealed around Summer-ish time. >.>
It'll be interesting to see what other ports/remakes SE had to pad out 2009, since a good chunk of this year was them. :P
A game like this wouldn't work well on the PS3. Plus the insane amount of time it would take to do a game with 50 or so unique Tales characters.
IIRC, Team Symphonia (who did Vesperia) says they want to work on next-gen consoles.
I wouldn't be surprised if this might be using parts of the Hearts and DotNW teams.
Nice job on the article. Looking forward to the others. ;)
The game's still on the PS3, you know...
I swear, Sony loyalists piss me off sometimes. >.>
It would surprise me, to be honest. :P
It sucks that Senel doesn't have a Mystic Arte.
From the other videos, it seems like character who didn't have a MA aren't getting one in RM2 (even though Senel had a MA on the disc in the Japanese version of Legendia, at least the sound clip for it).
I dunno why it was approved as it was. They passed it off as official news from Nintendo.
So you're saying "casual" games wouldn't have high production values, or a game that doesn't have hi-res graphics wouldn't either?
I take it you never played Super Mario Galaxy?
I lol at how this person forgets that Sony keeps releasing new PlayStation systems (PS2/PSP/PS3) SKU's, and they remove stuff instead of just being another color choice.
And I bet this person never played Super Mario Galaxy.
Can someone tell me how the heck this got approved?
They'd need to have a community aspect like Monster Hunter. IIRC, isn't that one of the main reasons that game did so well in Japan?
