I wonder how good/badly that's affected their bottom line. Anyone know of the current stats for the revenue from the portable games?

IIRC, it should be at the bottom of the sheet that has the track list for the first soundtrack. That's what I've heard (I don't have the SE).

That boxart also lacks the ESRB image, so it could have been from a mock-up.

Then again, I never looked that hard at it before the Japanese PS3 announcement, so I don't know if it was changed or not.

EDIT: The image for the SE still has the ONLY ON logo, so it likely is a mockup.

The real issues in the TU article actually were with the European Xbox 360 release and the voice overs. The Symphonia argument was more theorizing than anything.

Look at what happened with the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on the PlayStation 2. They couldn't get some of those voice actors back to reprise their roles. If that happened with Vesperia, you would have an entire character that would need to be revoiced.

I dunno. I didn't see this in the list when I submitted the article (both the first one manually when you submit the link and the one to make sure you didn't duplicate).

Maybe because it failed approval it wasn't seen?

I doubt that was the case. This sounds a lot like them wanting to add her, but running out of time. Hence why Flynn is also there as record data, yet he's not playable outside of that one event during the game.

Kinda like how Lilith was dummied out of Tales of Destiny on the original PlayStation.

Now the new voice acting, that's what wouldn't be able to fit on the 360's DVD discs. ;)

The sales in Japan were less than the previous games in the series. Also, due to the small console sales compared to the Wii or PS3, the X360 sales are going to be bumped up whenever a high-profile title like this is released.

True, but the Japanese version was missing the label, and from what was said in Famitsu, they knew the game was going to be ported eventually.

If it exists for timed exclusives, then by that logic, the Japanese version would have also had the label.

We don't know the terms of the agreement (it's to be assumed some money traded hands due to the increased level of quality in the voice work and getting an English version of the opening theme when Dawn of the New World j...

If anything, they're copying Super Smash Bros. with the play style here.

Not that much of a fan of FPS's, but I've heard great things about this game.

They said they wanted to develop console and handheld titles equally, so I'd imagine the other batches of trademarks is leaning towards a handheld title.

DotNW was done by the a spin-off team that was put together while Team Symphonia was working on Vesperia and the mix of Destiny and Symphonia teams were working on Hearts, and Ten/Graces looks like a main team game.

I remember Team Symphonia saying they wanted to do HD Tales titles, so this might be from the Hearts team.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this.

Hopefully they learned from The Last Remnant's development. ;)

Especially since Nintendo owns quite a bit of share in Monolith now.

If it turns out Tales of 10/Ten is being done by the Hearts team, it's a good bet Team Symphonia is doing another HD Tales, although with Vesperia started right after Abyss was finished, it might be a year or so before it gets officially revealed (like at Jump Festa, which was how Vesperia got announced).

Might take less time, considering they already know their way around the 360's hardware now. They probably developed dev tools as they were working on it.

Yep. It's basically a event for the fans (like those Pokemon parks that pop up in Japan every so often), but this one had interviews and skits from the Japanese voice actors, as well as merchandise and getting to see videos of new stuff.

This year also has two of the groups that have done the theme songs for Symphonia/Tempest/Dawn of the New World and Radiant Mythology 2.

@- Ghost of Sparta -: IIRC, that was when Famitsu was theorizing that a PS3 Tales of (or a port of Vesperia) would be revealed at that press confrence last summer.

I dunno how it'll turn out, to be honest. Although with non-gamers buying shovelware on the Wii, they might.

Namco-Bandai hasn't said anything yet as far as a North America / European release.

6194d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That was true with the PS2 because it was the most popular system. If they're going for where the most people are, they would want to do games for the Wii (like the unnamed Tales of Ten, rumored to be Tales of Gracia/Graces).
