I'd really love to see a 2D next-gen Sonic. With the graphical technology, they could make one hellva nice looking 2D sonic w/ it.

Yeah, DotNW was more of a side game than anything, so it had much less of a budget than Vesperia or Abyss would.
Plus this is being made by what seems to be most of the Team Destiny team (Destiny PS2, Rebirth), so I doubt it'll be bad. ;)

Good to hear SE isn't forgetting Europe. I wonder if this was more due to scheduling in Europe, since it wouldn't be that hard to translate everything?

Considering the space on the blu-ray disc (and they got the original on a DVD), it wouldn't make sense if they didn't do it.
Only thing I could think of is licensing fees to have the Japanese voices, depending on how much it would cost the North American branch to get a hold of them.
EDIT: And yeah, Vesperia had a really nice dub for the English version. I was impressed, to say the least.

Shiina's work was well above anything Sakuraba's done for the series (although his other works like Baten Kaitos were amazing). ;)

He's probably doing some of the other ones, it's just that they let Shiina do this one since he wanted to do it so badly.
It sounds like some of Sakuraba's other works might be plain ports of the originals, from the videos that have been released, as far as I can tell.
If it had a nice color scheme + a watermark of the FFVII logo on the back I might interested in this. :)
