Sony has had many failed ventures, but they did create the CD, which makes up for a heck of a lot of it, especially seeing as this is what the DVD and HDDVD+Bluray are derived from. Also, while it was in fact toshiba who developed the DVD, when Sony abandoned its competing MMCD format and started supporting DVD, it was undoubtedly the company which did the most work in getting DVDs in homes. We really owe a lot to Sony.

admittedly this isn't really much of a response to anythin...

Why on earth shouldn't paramount have 'taken the bribe'? It's good business sense. It's not like they have some sort of sacred duty to back blu ray. And sony forget that sony isn't the boss of blu ray. Whereas HD-DVD is most prominently backed by toshiba, Blu ray is far more a shared property. Sony are pulling a heck of a lot of weight for it though.

All sources claim the story is short and crap. Thia game is all about the multiplayer.

Now come on, you haven't player the new crash mode. Everything we've seen so far in this game has been top notch. Do you really think they'd let you down?

I know. It's a disgrace. It just happens to be what Wii owners are voting for by buying those games.

Haha! Some of these are hilarious! And the music was actually funny and not annoying in most of them!

Well come on, we all saw this coming. It's a cheap console that is selling wildly to the casual gamer. Cheap games like wii sports have been selling incredibly well. The huge install base and the consumers who don't read reviews mean that a developer can knock out a crappy game with horrible graphics but some great boxart and it will sell. This is especially true of movie-game knockoffs. These are games which will sell regardless of any quality, and will sell like crazy on the wii.

And why two motorstorms as well?

Really not news, just the same thing being said again. I wanna see a developer come and prove what's possible on it. Until then I'll enjoy what I have.

Oh come on then lets just go and rename the thread "Breaking News - Mk Red is a cracking good fellow". Frankly he deserves the recognition.

What's wrong with you?! You've seen how it looks already on the PC, right? They'll be porting the the 360 and PS3 separately, and will be optimized to each console. No platform will limit another. What a cheap way to take a dig at the 360.
Anyway, it's not just the technically impressive graphics that make this game impressive. It's the core gameplay aspects. An open world FPS. Advanced AI. Realistically destructible environments. Realistic damage and healing. This game is impressive o...

I read the review a week ago :P
What i mean is that when you have a sandbox environment but all you can do is drive, no matter how well designed the roads are, it's never going to have the same sense of freedom as, say, GTA.
And by set pieces I really mean the kind that are scripted. While they're completely at odds to the spirit of this game, huge and imaginative set pieces can be absolutely incredible and game-defining. In burnout you're going to make your own, I know, but t...

I love OPM. I've been reading it since early in the OP2M days. I always agree with the reviews they give and they reward games that are fun to play more than games that are impressive.

I think 9/10 is the right score for it. It's not perfect, and lacks a great deal of variation or memorable set pieces which might be expected in a 10/10 game, but it's an absolute blast to play and very well designed. Definitely pick it up!
