Nothing about Death Stranding respects gamers or their time, nor does his response to criticism ("It's just too smart for Americans") respect them.
He also is all about making things all about him, in his own words, as of late. He laments that "auteurs" aren't respected in the game industry like they are in the film industry, that people credit teams or publishers. He only gave credit to his team at Kojima Productions after a hefty amount of back...

Layden was the one who said they were going to start putting some titles on other platforms, and he seemed rather enthused by the idea of giving certain titles a leg up.
And yes, if you were literally forced into retirement so the company you worked for can implement policies you were allegedly vehemently against, then feeling "great" about that company is quite weird and unreasonable.

No, Sony published it on PC, but it's a Kojima Productions game being published on PC by 505 Games.
Y'all are both pointing to games from outside parties, both of which were ANNOUNCED to be coming to other platforms long ago, as indicative of some sort of major trend.
Layden left because he wanted to retire. This isn't about "new management", this is about renewing the license and not being left with a mostly redundant and defunct studio in San Diego.
MLB and the MLBPA wanted it multiplat, now it is. No coincidence this is announced concurrently with the license being renewed.

The MLB license is what caused this. The League and the Players Association want a bigger payday and likely threatened to take the license elsewhere unless this happened.
Could it happen with Spider-Man? Maybe. But not until that license is up for renewal.
It genuinely saddens me to see so-called gamers actually advocate in favor of a service whose endgame is to remove actual ownership of your games.
Mind you, this is if we're exclusively counting First Party.

Because the game was revealed as a multiplat and then later re-announced as an Exclusive that was never really Exclusive, yes.
