The only "Betrayal" was when Nintendo broke their contract with Sony the day after the Playstation was revealed at CES and they only learned when everyone else did.

Actually... I'd love to see a lot of series properly adapted.
Too many times people write the medium off as a poor storytelling venue, seeing a good adaptation articulate a game's story could work wonders to dispel that notion in the mainstream.
Plus being real, Ratchet & Clank looks amazing.

Put simply? Hardware's not advanced enough to brute force emulation of games that required the Cell, and software emulation would require them to almost remake the game anyways.

Nah, that'd also depend on risking the game being delayed and so on. Paris was simply more strategic. Allows more time to bring some new things to the table, as well as works to counteract the meme that there are no games and provide incentive to pick up the PS4 during the holidays if only for what's coming soon.

It, uh... it very much means that. Especially if the folks at Lucasfilm ordered them.
Lucasfilm also being the folks who would have to approve whatever story was placed into the game which is part of why there is none. All new canon content is being very carefully laid until the movie comes out, and they want to focus on the era around the original trilogy as its relevant to that.
