Gearbox was publishing this game before MS bought the studio. The only way they could have prevented that was to buy the publishing rights from Gearbox as well.

I liked Edge of Time and the first ASM game. They weren't perfect but they were pretty fun.

Well for one, Valkyria Chronicles didn't really need "rescuing", but for another, Xbox holds exclusive PUBLISHING rights to the first SSO game. It only goes where they let it.
And sadly, most publishers don't wanna consider a sequel without the original.

Street Fighter V is a AAA title that has Cross-Play with... PC.
My guy, they have it. Fortnite? Cross-play with PC and Mobile.

Vita actually had some good First Party support at launch, including an Uncharted and Killzone game. People just refused to grab those games and instead be mad they weren't released on the PS3 instead.
Had strong support in Japan too; why more of those games weren't being localized, idk.
