Somehow....why do I see Shuhei yoshida saying "you can still play your games offline, even if you are banned"?
Im sure Sony will have measures in place to combat hackers and modders, when that time comes...but I highly doubt theyre gonna keep people from playing their games offline to do it.
One thing we can all agree on, tho: Whether this is a Microsoft issue, Infinity Ward issue or a ban issue...this is straight BS.

Not being able to play your games offline, off of XBL....because of a ban, even a permaban...is outrageous! Kick me off your network, fine, whatever...but dont you dare tell me that I cant play the games I paid for OUTSIDE of your network! No, no, no! That is very BAD business.

Now that he has agreed to an NDA, I can understand a ban if it were to happen again. But prior to this, he was not bound to an NDA or gag order...and never shouldve been banned, in the first place.

When you are prematurely sent an XBox One from target, at their own mishap and you paid for the console in full, you have a basic consumer right to plug it in, turn it on and use it to it's full capacity. This guy was not under any kind of NDA or gag order when he recieved his console. He is legally free to talk about it and even post info about it. This is bs.

I appreciate my past just fine thru PC emulators and ROMS. I dont need to see rehashed games from 20 years ago on the Wii U (a console thats SUPPOSED to be next gen) to appreciate my history, thank you very much.
Were 11 days from the launch of the PS4 and 18 days away from the XBox One....and THIS is what Nintendo decides to do with it's time? LOL, whatever man.

Hmm...well, that depends on a lot of other things the hypothetical console could or couldnt do, but if I could afford a 4K tv 3 years from now...sure, I'd jump ship. If im stuck with my 1080p HDTV 3 years from now, then no...it wouldnt make any sense.
That's why a lot of us refuse to support devs and their games, that mandate parity between consoles. I dont care what game it is or how popular it is, if the devs are gonna gimp it up on a console that has already proven to be superior...just for the sake of parity, they wont get MY money, or support.
Shame on developers that do this...

How is this gonna affect people's ISP providers? Downloading games at 50GB a pop is sure to drain some people's download limit. I tried to download an entire tv series from a torrent site once and got an email warning from my ISP provider a few days later...didnt do that again!
So how are we supposed to explain to our service providers that were just downloading games that we bought and paid for?

Reboot it back to its roots. More horror/survival...less action. Make it a trilogy with a beginning, middle and end. Know where youre going with the story and plot and wrap it up in the third game. Dont churn out another 6 games, where the story goes on and on and on and appears to have no end.

n4ganingm....MS is most definately stupid enough to pull some crap like this. Considering what we've seen from MS throughout this past year, and it's still snowballing out of control with their "upscaled" 1080p fiasco...yeah, it's possible they could turn around and do something like this, 12 days before launch.
