You kinda sound like OJ Simpson fan.
Why do you use the word "hate" so much? Do you think i'm a micro-phobe?
Actually I'm not. I'm just pissed about the products that they have been putting out lately. Don't get me wrong, XP in an excellent OS, and I've been using it for years. And Outlook is a pretty good thing too (though slow as hell). I've probably been using MS products long before you learned the words "law", "Wikipedia" and "Sony...
@7.9 - I'm no lawyer but as far as I know basically it all started with Media Player and later moved to servers. Sun complained about not disclosing some facts, etc (compatibility issues, so that people couldn't use Windows with Solaris normally and would have to use Win). They wound up in the courts of EU.
I could just copy some legal stuff form EU's websites here, but I'm too lazy.
@7.10 - there's nothing bad about dominance. The problems begin when the dominating play...
@7.7 - Oh, crap, you sound too serious to be kidding. Poor child.
I'll tell you one last time - this has nothing to do with Sony. If you're only 12 and don't know anything besides gaming in the computer industry, then just don't read articles like this. Or else your brain will fry.
@7.6 - About the standards being pressed on people - take a look in your PC.
@7.1 - If you wold know anything about business then you would know something about competition. This is a word to describe relationship between two companies that produce similar product(s). In this case there can be two kinds of competition:
1) Both companies, battling for the consumer create a better/cheaper product.
2) One of the companies is a monopolist and doesn't give a crap about the consumer. It bullies the rival company by threatening it, its investors; by bribing pot...
Are you people insane? Defending the monopolistic maker of crappy software? Have you ever tried Vista? It's a steaming pile of DRM!
People in EU are simply tired of bastards selling their crappy software for a completely insane amount of cash and bullying competition.
Of course, the EuroCrats are a bunch of morons with too much time on their hands, but this is one of those rare good things what they are doing.
I guess people just don't see anything...
This is a really nice step, but the problem is that the money will be investem mostly in dull projects and casual games. And, of course, some of the money will be spent on beer.
Are you on acid or something? Halo has 1 mil preorders, not 5. Stop dreaming and get a job.
Yeah, a game that runs 60FPS@1080p - a game that all xbots dream about.
Ah, yes. Didn't notece that. But anyway it will be great to see Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacked on a 42" TV (as soon as I get one).
Oh, and btw, I stumbled upon a must buy: http://www.dvdtown.com/news...
Blu Ray is having some more Kubrick titles. It seems that Sony is trying to attract classic fans. Which is a good thing.
@3.1 - I believe it is prooF not prooFS.
Anyhow, most of intelligent people know that Wikipedia is full of sh!t because anyone can edit it. I don't see what's the big deal about this. Everybody knows that Sony likes to play dirty and everybody also knows that Microsoft in no better. Get over it.
Can the tool also check porn sites that i've visited 3 years ago and send links to my relatives?
Someone should cut Japan's power supply for a day or two, so that they cool down a bit.
That decision would be pretty logical if they want to sell their games in Japan.
Well, here in good ol' Eastern Europe Digital Distribution has been around for a while already - very few people actually buy films. You can guess what they do instead.
That's why we all have very nice interweb connections, I for example, sport a ~50 Mbit/s cable, so HD won't be much of a problem.
Next generation doesn't start before MS releases a new Service Pack.
The link isn't working!
Too expensive. Blu ray really needs a budget player.
An excellent vid. This guy should team un with AVGN.
Lets just hope that GT5 will do what all Gran Turismo games do - set another benchmark.
And don't forget - even Jeremy Clarkson acknowledges the greatness of GT.
