It depends on the PC. Consoles are the hardware the average person has access to and therefore game developers target console owners and can easily make games that utilise a particular console's ability. This isn't the case for PC as everyone has a PC with different specs. However, seeing as all games are made on a PC, it is not so difficult for developers to release a title for the medium. Piracy has driven down PC sales but services like Steam have kept the PC gaming industry alive....

GTA IV is my favourite game this gen. I know most won't agree with me but that's my honest opinion. It had its problems and there are plenty of improvements to be made. More content needs to be added with the next instalment. I think the driving could have been better but it was not cumbersome. The physics made the game so much fun as crashing into cars was always enjoyable. I think GTA V will mix the best of GTA IV with the best of San Andreas and that formula would be unbeatable.
UC2 may be a great game but it is extremely linear. We can't judge games from a technical point of view by just looking at graphics. Far Cry and Assassin's Creed are open world franchises. They demand better tech and thus I can see where Ubisoft is coming from but 2013/2014 is the time for new consoles; not now.
The game is not open-world but is a lot more open than normal fps games. Considering this, its level of graphics and the fact that it runs on 60fps, this game looks pretty impressive. Though they need to work on the ai From what has been shown before, the ai is mediocre at best. It certainly has the potential to be fps of the year if not GOTY.
Skyrim is in development for three years. It has a new engine and many different innovations. Skyrim aims to mix the best from Oblivion and the best from Morrowind and if it achieves that, no game will stand in its way for GOTY. I think there is a great line up of games for the year end and this is one of the best years yet for games. Look at what we've seen so far. LBP2, Crysis 2, LA Noire and Infamous 2 just to name a few. This is ridiculous. Firstly, Skyrim is the most promising game coming out and the only game that has a three year development cycle. Secondly, Uncharted 3 and MW3 are shooters and Skyrim is an an rpg. The game couldn't be more different and they will attract different audiences; though I fit into both audiences. MW3 is just MW2 with a different story. UC3 should be an excellent game but we experienced something very similar in UC2 just two years ago. There hasn't been an Elder Scrolls...

I didn't like FFXIII as an FF game but as a stand alone game it was great. At least SE don't rush out titles like Activision do. I have faith in Versus XIII because it seems to be mixing most of the great FF traditions with innovative new combat. With that formula, large development time and Nomura in charge, I think it will deliver. This is SE's last chance to redeem themselves to core FF fans.
