I'm on xbox live since 2004 and I definitely would not subscribe to the Gold service if playing online was free. Very few people would. The only reason I'm on live to begin with is because my friends are on it and I care about my gamerscore. From my experience, PSN is every bit as good despite a few features. Also, KZ2 and UC2 online are better than anything Halo and Gears offer.
Microsoft have mostly fixed the rrod issues with the new Jasper models. It took them long enough but the reason they would bring out a slim version would be to reduce costs and to make the console look more appealing and attractive. It would be funny if instead of announcing the slim at E3, they surprised everyone and announced the Xbox 3. I would expect it if Natal wasn't coming out at year end. I've this for 360 and its brilliant. I recommend it to any GTA fan. It addresses a lot of the issues people had with the original game and in a lot of ways, it is better than the original.
Heavy Rain has received critical acclaim for being an innovative game that alone has created a whole new genre in gaming. Not everyone may like it but a lot of people will. Quantic Dream have really pulled off something amazing. Who doesn't want a brilliantly deep and exciting story, intense gameplay sequences, a great atmosphere, superb character models and a huge element of choice in a game? I do and that's what Heavy Rain brings to the table.

Freedom Fighters was on xbox as well and by the sounds of it, this title was exclusive to PS2. I think its SOCOM tbh. They're not counting Confrontation. I love rpgs more than any other genre but I really love FF games. An average FF game would attract me more than an excellent beat-em-up such as GOWIII. The first xbox sold horribly but I wouldn't say it was a horrible console. It had a more powerful processor and graphics card than the ps2 and multiplatform games played significantly better on it. Well its obvious he was talking about the US. The reason so many 360s have been sold there and people haven't moved over to PS3 is because a good percentage of Americans are dumb. For example, surveys showed that one in three Americans couldn't point out the US on a world map. I suppose it isn't surprising seen as the education system is so weak and dumbed down in the states. I don't believe rpgs are dead. People just can't accept a change in style. I played the old FF games and loved them but I also loved FF XII and I'm enjoying XIII atm. I respect Peter Molyneux. He is very honest and gives praise to the competition when deserved. Playing on normal means that you will get through the game without dying much, depending on your skill and how much effort you put in. 8 hours for a normal playthrough is quite long. The game is meant to be played on hard or the hardest difficulty. So if one plays on normal, they will likely play again on hard which will more than double the lifespan of the game. I completely agree. It is ridiculous that the 360 is over four years old and you still cannot transfer movies or music from a usb drive to the hard drive. The PS3 is so useful like that. It's irritating having to rip a cd to the hard drive every time you want to store music. M$, get it sorted and do it soon! It's funny how a company like M$ that are so restrictive when it comes to modifying their products, have the easiest console to hack on the market. Pure irony.

People mention the rrod because it has plagued the 360 since launch and from the results of surveys done, the 360 has a much higher failure rate than the PS3 in all models up until the Jasper. You may know six people who got the ylod but I know one person who has gone through six 360s.
