Had none of the magic of the first 2 games. Had a stupid new stamina mechanic. Art was hideous. I likely will never finish it.
I remember games being 60FPS in the 5th and 6th gens. Optimization works wonders. Nintendo often has their games at 60. A lot of devs just favor resolutions and visuals over frame rate.

Some of the best music, characters, and story in all of games. Nothing quite like them. Automata has better gameplay but both have some stellar characters. I tend to like Nier 1's characters more but both are great.

No. Both games while same universe so Emil is in it have their own story. This is thousands of years before 2B existed. Tho I hear 2Bs VA will make a cameo. Nier series is in the Drakengard universe.
Automata basically took all the ideas Nier had and polished them to something great. Nier 1 gameplay is servicable. Not terrible just average.

No. They are stellar. Automata is a masterpiece in every way. Nier 1 had average gameplay but one of the best soundtracks in gaming along with some amazing characters and concepts and a brilliant story. It's unlike anything else.
The bad Contras began on PS1. At that time Contra was still a respected series. Street Fighter EX was bad.

PC FX despite the name it was a home console and the direct successor to the PC Engine or Turbografx16 as it was known in the west. Came out the same year as PS1 and Saturn.

PS2 played all PS1 games
PS3 launch system played PS2 and PS1 games. All of them. PS2 had about 4500 games released for it. PS1 about 3100. So PS3 at launch played 7600 games approx. XSX is not BC with every single Xbox game that will work tho. Select games. I doubt it even comes close to the number for launch PS3 ability.
