The Gooch, lol. That made me laugh. Here's a bubble.

A year ago, before building a gaming PC, I might've been frothing at the bit for a new console. Now, not at all.

The way I see it is Sony has been trainwrecked over and over againt his gen with the PS3, so much so that Microsoft was literally given a pass on the whole RROD fiasco. Too expensive, no games, multi-plats look like crap, many of the previous PS2 exclusives going multi, reviewers saying PS3 and 360 games are equal, yet judging PS3 games severely more difficul...

I spend hundreds of dollars a year on games.

Haven't spent one dime, nor have a played a single game or payed for a single game ever on a phone, except for like billiards or whatever other free crap game comes pre-installed.

What's funny is these types of statistics always say more people playing on smartphones, but never how much more they're PAYING on smartphones versus handhelds, consoles and PC.

What difference does it make ...

HAHA, what a funny article. I was just at Gamestop thinking if I should finally pick up FFXIII, but still can't bring myself to pay anything more than $5 for it.

Last FF I completed was X-2, and that was horrible, I just wanted my money's worth since I'd paid top dollar for it. But it was that Vaan guy that finally destroyed all hope for me in a FF game. I played the first hour and half of FFXII, turned it off and returned it for something else and haven't ...

Playing Fallout 3 GOTY YLOD my PS3.

Playing Oblivion GOTY made my PS3 crash all the time.

Not a single other game did this to my PS3, and both were made my Bethesda, and both were the GOTY editions that are supposed to iron all the bugs out.

But I learned my lesson, where it seems other PS3 owners didn't. Unfortunately, I understand that people wanted to play Skyrim. I want to play Skyrim. But I haven't, and I won't, not on my ...

Wife and daughter love this game. It's also the first game my wife has played that has shown her how addictive a game can be for me, since she's stayed up until 2am playing on the PS3 version of Angry Birds I got her.

She went online and watched the little videos promoting the newer versions of the game and couldn't stop laughing at the little animation trailers and stories they'd made for Angry Birds.

Yes, as a life-long gamer since the earl...

Agree. Shooting stuff and watching it blow up with goodies in Borderlands never got boring. I would try out new guns that I might never have used in other games simply because I'd gotten it as a rare drop.

This is the only shoooter I didn't get bored with after 25hrs of gameplay, and the variety and ever-increasing grade level of weapons was the main reason why.

Wow, death threats. . .That's a little bit too hardcore in my opinion. . .though the new Dante does look freaking stupid. . .like Keanu Reeves before he enters the Matrix if he'd tried to go to a halloween party as a zombie version of the Crow.

Probably not entirely for console gaming.

But for PC and portable devices, yeah, to a degree. Even though I bought 50+ Steam/GOG/Gamersgate games, I still bought like 5 PC games on disc just because the price was a bit better at the time I wanted them than digital.

I did buy Burnout Paradise and Dead Space Extraction for PS3 through PSN though, so I'm not opposed to it on console gaming, but some of the game files are massive, and I don't know if I w...

Hahaha. . .

I bought at least 50 pc games off Steam, GoG and Gamersgate last year, maybe more.

I read forums all the time about people unable to control their purchasing habits on said websites since the deals are so good, they can't pass them up.

I just built my first gaming PC rig March 2011 and I own a PS3 and Xbox360 since 2007.

Pirating is not killing nor will it kill the PC game market. It might put more unfortunat...

I agree. X-2 was the last console FF I played and the point where I stopped sheepishly buying Squaresoft products because of how terrible it was.

Have not cared about a SquareEnix RPG since FFX when they were last Squaresoft.

Scratch that, FF Crisis Core was okay, though I got sick of hearing Activate Combat Mode over and over again followed by heavy metal music. Other than that, that was the last FF product I played, let alone SquareEnix RPG.

Last two SquareEnix products I even purchased or played was Batman and Just Cause. Company has gone down the drain from their Jap-side of things. I used to bu...

Um, define struggle.

How many movies have topped $600 million domestically? 2? How many have topped $500 million domestically? 1? How many have topped $400 million domestically? 4 or 5?

Yet who will argue that anything that's made above $200 million but less than $400 million is a flop? If that's the case, then Batman Begins is a flop because it only made somewhere in the mid $200 million range. Who here belives Batman Begins was a flop?

Wife is hooked on Angry Birds. I was playing the demo for Rage the other day and she was capping on it since it's the same thing over and over again and that it doesn't have the same level of stratagey as Angry Birds. Very funny conversation.

Yes, no woman likes when a boyfriend or husband ignores the crap out of them in favor of killing digital enemies. My wife has explained it to me that it's not a hate of the games themselves, but what happens to me when I s...

Nice. I passed on picking up the Stalker series a month or two ago, maybe during Thanksgiving sale since it was only 50% off. Today, 75% off, so I picked up the two games I was missing for like $6.29.

Patience is a virtue when it comes to Steam holiday sales.

Very good article for new buyers off Steam. Only buy Daily Deals stuff during sale. On last day of sale, if the game you want hasn't appeared on Daily Deal, then you buy it for whatever the sale price is. For instance, was gifted Half-Life 2 yesterday, considered buying Ep 1 & 2, price was $4.99 each one. Today, Half-Life 2 is Daily Deal, and they each cost $1.99. So wait to buy what you want until last day in case it appears on Daily Deal so you don't get shafted.

Finally checked back on Steam. Scored 2 games off the great gift pile thing for free already.

Half-Life 2
Empire: Total War

Hope everybody else has some good luck.

Was a strict console gamer from 1996-2010. Didn't have the patience to figure out how to build a proper gaming PC.

Then PS3 YLOD. . .

I needed a new PC anyways, decided to learn and build my own gaming PC and now my slim PS3 refurb collects major dust except for when we watch movies. Very little gaming on it anymore.

Why?

Mainly because I was getting sick of FPS after FPS. Yes, there are more games to play on PS3 than ...
