Well, perhaps you couldn't have expected it with last gen's consoles, but the PS3 (as you said) IS upgradeable, and so SHOULD be able to keep up with Blu-Ray players (at least for the forseeable future)

I think you mean 4320p (UHDV), which is not expected to be the standard IN JAPAN until at least 2015, and is not 40x 1080p, but 16x.

I have a PS3, but I plan on getting a 360, and I'll be out of debt for my new TV... in late April, funnily enough.
Hopefully, by then there will be either a new SKU (Blu-Ray, Internal Wi-Fi, anyone?) out, or a price drop:
- To compete with Sony's (likely) price-drop
- To tempt people away from the PS3 GTA and also MGS4
- To try and counter Home
Obviously, by then they will hopefully have fixed the RRoD problem.

I am totally in support of Sony and the PS3, but, like I said in another comment; all of that story is biased. The chart makes it look as though the PS3 is going to sell 75% of all units, and I couldn't believe it when I read that only a "meagre" 46% were planning on buying it on 360.

I doubt it's propaganda. First of all, look at the tiny difference PS3 and 360 predicted sales. If it was bullshit, the difference would be much more marked: 55-45,60-40?

Well, have you seen January's figures :O? The PS3 did incredibly, only missing put on the Wii by 5,000. Admittedly, this may be a one-off, just it certainly does add strength to the claims that the PS3 will come out on top.
On that note, does anyone REALLY think that it will take until 2011 for that to happen. I think that, realistically, the PS3 could outsell the 360 in all regions within the next few months, and this would be almost inevitable with a price drop. I'm confide...
With all of the rumours currently zapping around cyberspace (e.g. GOW3 , Home etc.) I'm actually starting to get REALLY excited :D
