That she mentions NOTHING regarding her internet set up, or ISP. She only mentions some issues people were having with Modnation Racers when it launched, and Uncharted 2 having lag so bad she kept getting kicked out of the game. I've never experienced this in Uncharted 2 and I've been playing since launch on both wifi and a direct land line. Maybe she's running off 56k? Oh, wait I mean DSL wifi.
She's been writing video game news articles for two years and st...
If there is DLC that adds content to the game, it absolutely can NOT be free on XBL, while developers have the option of doing so on the PSN. Microsoft has complete control over XBL and that's why many developers and publishers have started to shift focus away or go exclusive, because Microsoft is stubborn in their ways now that they think they are kings of the online community.
Many people forget that XBL started years before the PSN, in the previous console generation ...
Shooters and sports games tend to do better on the 360, although there are some exceptions, while more nichè games do better on the PS3. Why do you think games like Yakuza 3+4 and Valkyria Chronicles will never see the light of day on the 360? They're obviously very Japanese influenced or themed, and are generally more nichè titles.
It's also reliant on install base, most of the 360's worldwide sales are in the USA, most of it's sales are shooters a...
It is a very Japanese game but the worldwide PS3 audience is generally more open minded and into various genres and themes as compared to the 360 audience, IMO. We see this with basically any multiplatform game that isn't a shooter involving bulky, steroid filled space marines or aliens, or generic sports games.
It's been like this since the PS1 days when there was a multitude of genres and themes to choose from. It's great to have variety, you know?
In the first place. Seriously, wtf were they thinking putting a hardcore JRPG on a console only popular in the USA, where it's userbase is primarily made up of sports and shooter fans -_- It made no sense and then they go and cry when they lost tons of money.
The fact that it sold more in it's first week in Japan on the PS3 than it did in it's entire lifetime on the 360 in the States says something. It'll be the same effect on the PS3 in the States and Europe...
We've all doubted it could ever happen with Kojima as well, and we see what happened there. Money talks and Microsoft is trying to grab any third party exclusives they can.. A lot of Squeenix's newer games have either scored badly, sold badly, or both.
It really sucks because the thought of multiplatform games is nice but when there are such differences between the consoles (two are vastly inferior to one), the game has to be shafted on all ends to make it even on al...
but we could see Nomura show up on the stage during Microsoft's keynote, announcing it will be coming to the 360 as well and thus delaying it even more, shafting it's production values and gameplay elements to better suit compression issues, disc swapping, and of course, poorer overall hardware performance (all to compensate for the 360's weaknesses); completely breaking the hearts of so many long time Square fans like us hoping for a saving grace after Squeenix's many blunder...
If it comes out on the 360 it WILL be shafted, it WILL be compromised because it HAS to be equal on all levels. Argue up and down all you want about the 360 having more RAM (it doesn't, half of it is actual computing RAM, the other half is video) or blurays being slower to load (it's negligible when you have developers optimizing processing power to completely stream/eliminate load times).
The problem is the 360's initial strengths in developer accessibility are ...
Definitely getting Castle Crashers, the Vanquish demo (played it at E3, loved it and definitely want to play it again before release, I really wish Alien Breed would have it's full release now but it'll be coming soon after the demo thankfully.
If they announce it for the 360 I'll completely disown Squeenix, that will be the last straw. Sony should fund them so they own it in part, like they did with FF VII.
A pokemon MMO is the next step to reinvigorate the franchise. I'm almost scared at the thought of one because I'd never want to stop playing. I'd be all water and dragon pokemon as they have always been my favorite. Seriously, the possibilities are insane and they would basically enslave millions of people worldwide if they did it right.
That's a shame, dunno why people hack sites let alone game news sites.
The site attempts to upload a trojan. Thankfully I use Eset NOD32, blocked several of the attacks. You've all been warned, do NOT go to the source site.
When ISPs start to seriously limit what you can browse and download, and how much you can download, thanks to pirates. They think they can keep getting away with it? At a certain point, once collateral damage gets high enough and enough money is lost I guarantee you they'll start cracking down and the rest of us will have to suffer thanks to greedy f*cking pirates.
You can expect massive backlash if Squeenix does announce Versus XIII for the 360. XIII going multi-plat was a big upset, but if Versus XIII (arguably Squeenix's last shot at redeeming themselves after all their most recent blunders and turd releases of games) goes multi-plat and therefore:
A) Delayed more, or longer development times.
B) Cut into pieces, compressed and made more linear to better suit multiple discs.
C) Made equal to the 360 version becaus...
When it's such a Japanophile game, it definitely won't sell in the East on the 360, IF it's brought to the West it'll be the same thing. I know I'm making big generalizations here but come on, we all know what the core install base is like on each of the platforms and the sales reflect that. It's their decision so I can't complain as long as I get to play the game, right?
ANYWAY, moving on to gush about how awesome this game looks:
...
My PC can still run most modern games with high or optimal settings but the FF XIV beta absolutely would not run on my PC. There was no explanation either, it just wouldn't run the patch client or the benchmark either. I think it's silly that they invited loads of people who had very low end PCs to a very demanding beta test. I'll just wait for the PS3 version I think because I don't feel like upgrading right now.
I really loved that read, to know how much detail and planning went into Yakuza 3 simply astounds me.
Definitely getting it on PSN as well. I'll gobble those trophies up and enjoy the game all over again :)
Oh and also: Shame on Microsoft for passing this game up, it's why the PSN is THE choice for a unique variety and quality downloadable titles.
Of all game consoles in that era, they blame the Playstation. Free press here we come!
