Some would argue that it makes it less risky for a publisher to release broken games because they know they already have sales, so all they need to do is hype it rather than make it work. If there werent pre orders and people heard a game was broken it would get way less sales. Personally I don't give a shit either way what people do.
It's whatever, who gives a crap? People are going to do what they're going to do.
@Hoffman A lot of people like really repetitive games. How do you think Destiny was a success? (at least Destiny had fun finely tuned gunplay) If you don't like doing the same thing over and over again forever though this game isn't for you. I like my games to be a little more complex with more interesting gameplay and a little better narrative. Not down with rock shooting/walking simulators.
So you don't feel that was one of the key reasons the WiiU failed?
I guess so considering guns used in WW1 were shit.
Save your money. It's not worth it even at 80% off. It has about 15 minutes worth of fun in it. Past that it's rinse and repeat for eternity.
The game sucks. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this ugly repetitive grind fest. Was sick of it's gameplay loop in about 20 minutes.
Lame, offer shittier games than last generation and charge more. Pretty cool Sony, pretty cool.
I found it to be relatively meh. Most of the planets are uninteresting for the most part and it's filled with grinding busywork.
My one 980 is ready for whatever it automatically defaults to because I don't care.
I'll have to try this if I ever win the lottery.
If you read the article he talks about the future of consoles being iterative like cell phones, so it will be a newer faster console, but not a new generation. Like what they're doing with Scorpio. I'm assuming a year or two after Scorpio they'll release an even faster X1
For me the problem is less about the handholding and more that the exploration just isn't any fun. You go to a variety of planets with varying different colors of dirt and shoot rocks. I seriously don't get the appeal. It would be cool if there was something worth exploring, but it's all just procedural rock formations with ugly textures.
This is about where I am with the game also, although I'd probably give it a 6.5. There's just not enough to do, and the things there are are repetitive and mundane. To make matters worse they dumbed the space combat down to the point where all the fun is sucked out. This game is all concept with little to no engaging gameplay.
Well, if the exploration was actually fun that would be cool, but you're going to planets that predominately look the same and shooting rocks. To make matters worse they simplified the space flight and combat to the point that all the fun was drained out of it. It seriously has the worst dogfighting of any space game I've played. So if the exploration isn't fun and the flying isn't fun, what's left? I guess the enjoyment of collecting and crafting things and watching stats...
Super Meh for me at this point, and I don't see how it will get any better. Flying to random planets to find elements to make a new thing so I can fly to a different random planet to find different elements. If the actual gameplay wasn't so unfun this may not be a problem, but wandering around for hours trying to shoot rocks is just not any fun.
So far it's very not fun.
It's very disappointing. Simplified to the point where all the fun has been drained out. Seemingly no way to turn on advanced flying controls.
I hope this game has VR compatibility at release.
The actual gameplay is paper thin. Maybe one day your rose colored glasses will fall off and you'll actually be able to tell. I'd rather play an actual deep space exploration game like Elite Dangerous than this simplified to a fault bore fest any day.
Also, I played more than 20 minutes. I played several hours and it never got any better. What I was doing in the first 20 minutes was almost exactly what I was doing hours into the game. Maybe something changes farther in than ...
