@danielle007
Yes I did read it, did you? Oh wait, yes you did... you just have the same ridiculous tendency towards sexist generalisation based on your extremely limited experience.
And yes, before you start bleating, I do know you are a 'girl gamer' too.
I am not saying that attention seeking women do not exist, because of course they do - and yes, some of them indeed have found a new avenue for getting their male-attention fix thro...
I'm a gamer and happen to also be female, but I have and never will refer to myself as a 'girl gamer'. Such a phrase tends to draw unwanted attention and causes others to instantly attach unfair stereotypes.
They're out there. :P
This comment is just as bad as the article.
So many generalisations and inaccurate assumptions about half the population of the entire planet.
Seriously, I understand frustrations at patronising articles like this written by female gamers, but you've clearly developed a few patronising prejudices and a rather bad attitude towards female gamers of your own.
Sorry but no, knowing 11 female gamers isn't sufficient to judge us all.
@Sony360
Naughty Dog aren't 'contracted' to Sony, they are outright owned by Sony. However, if you find the quote you see the reasons why they believe it wouldn't run on X360 and they are very valid reasons. The Uncharted games rely heavily on the SPU processing power, which is the major advantage the PS3 has over X360. Unfortunately, very few developers use them to their full potential.
Anyone who has even basic knowledge of DVT knows that it's due to sitting down for extended periods and is exacerbated by poor circulation and/or poor air quality. The fact this man was playing a video game during the period he was sitting is completely irrelevant... he could have been watching films, reading a book or sitting in an office doing overtime like an upstanding member of society! We all know that in any other circumstance, this wouldn't have been reported at all.

I don't mind if MS and Sony bring out new consoles in the near future... just, can it be 2013 and not next year? Next year feels too soon. :\
Is it me, or is Japan slightly obsessed with the gender swap romance storyline?
Surely it can be its own genre now!
Witcher 2 is also on PC and so most would not consider that exclusive.
Decent interview; he asks a few solid questions and got a good soundbyte out of him too... the bit about wanting to be compared to movies - that's an interesting one.
Not sure how I feel about it entirely, I understand that Uncharted is greatly inspired by movies and the main thrust of the games is to be 'cinematic'; but surely being compared to movies is the wrong direction to go in? To be a truly respected storytelling format - video games really need to stop o...
All I've ever seen PS3-only owners say about Limbo is that they wish it was on PS3 too. I used to frequent a lot of different websites and I don't really recall anyone saying it was crap just because it wasn't coming to PS3.
I am a PS3-only (well, and gaming PC) owner and I have been hoping for ages for Limbo to make the jump. Gotta remember, not all single format gamers are fanboys/girls.
I'd also welcome Alan Wake to PS3, it's one of t...
I notice that too... I think it's because the green banner logo clashes with the box art in most cases and doesn't blend in too well. PS3 banner logos are black and red and if 2 colours always look classy together, it's black and red!
Not to worry, they'll be gone soon as PEGI will be taking over game rating in the UK by the end of this year I believe.
Not sure why Sony is to blame here... They don't control the pricing of third party content on the PS Store; the publishers do and in this case the publisher is Warner Bros. so logically, if you have beef with hiked prices and a late release then you should take it up with them.
Also, this kind of thing has been talked about by the community managers on the Playstation Blog in Europe many times - it is beyond their control when content is released later in the EU vs. the...
Everything about this game screams "buy me! you'll love me!" and I am so tempted... but then all the mainstream reviews are slamming it. :\
I suppose I should just take the risk and buy it, but I have limited funds for video games so I need to pick and choose wisely. It's nice to see some more positive reviews coming out... decisions, decisions...
I'm sure it will be on top briefly after release. How much they have improved U3's MP over U2 will decide whether or not it stays there, I suspect.
It's interesting so many people are saying this stuff is spreading because of Sony fanboys spreading lies because they have been desperately wishing for XBL to be hacked too.
However, if you take 2 seconds you will notice this article which heavily implies a hack of XBL in the article title, is in fact an X360 fan site.
So, yeeeeah... change the record, maybe?
Ok, my bad I got the dates wrong. For some reason my brain was thinking 2007. I guess I was thinking of the PS3. *shakes head*
Anyway, I don't think 7 years is enough to be honest. Again, like I said with the recession they're probably not too eager to risk more financial loss, because very seldom do hardware launches make companies any profit and Microsoft haven't been making the truckloads of cash people assume they have with the X360 due to the RRoD and cons...
*gasp*
Go rectify that - right now! lol
Seriously, Brotherhood is amazing - if you enjoyed AC2 you'll love Brotherhood. Plus there's a lot more Desmond in Brotherhood - the mysteries in the modern day story really start opening up.
While I agree that the other article was bad, the comments in response to it were even worse.
