Slim pickings in regards to Xbox console exclusive titles, but as we all know multiplatform titles such as CoD and Fifa dominate the sales on home consoles. So then the reasons to buy an Xbox begins to narrow down to BC, Gamerscore, and what console your friends play on. Otherwise, you're buying the console for less than a handful of 'console exclusive titles' unlike gamers who choose a Nintendo or Sony games console.
Perhaps the rumours of MS moving away from game consol...
I wonder how this will affect Platinum Games? Financially it can't have been good having such a high profile development cancelled. They will be hoping NieR: Automata does well on PS4 & PC in order to salvage some pride.
There is a silver lining for Xbox gamers though. There was mention that NieR: Automata could end up on Xbox, but it could depend on the reception it receives from the West. So, maybe Xbox gamers should write up a petition and start port begging, huh?
Neither Sony nor Nintendo would be crazy enough to pick up those sloppy seconds from Xbox.

Fascinating story.
Answer: Microsoft Studios.
MS likely saw Platinum Games as a means to get a foothold into the Japanese market, and maybe bag some sales in the West. A respected developer with a decent track record of games with a somewhat cult status amongst their audience. And they had an IP that might just turn out to be the next big thing. Or so MS thought.
I think this was Platinum Games first partnership with a Western publisher, and they weren't used to each others way of doing things. MS may have been trying to mi...
Interesting.
Actually, they missed a trick not hiring Ken Kutaragi before Scorpio was announced.
MS could salvage this by getting Tomonobu Itagaki, Suda51, Taro Yoko, Koji Igarashi, and Hideki Kamiya (when he recovers), to form a super studio to develop games exclusively for the Scorpio. j/k
But were the issues with development due to the demands by MS, or was it due to the studio not having the resources? In any case, I hope Kamiya and his team get well soon.
Not coming to PC anymore?
Scalebound looked like a hot mess, but Xbox fans were lapping it up as the second coming of Panzer Dragoon Orta. It may well have been Phil Spencer who greenlit the game in the first place, and now he's forced to pull the plug.
Even if it were available, I doubt Sony would want Scalebound, and the majority of PS4 owners wouldn't want it either IMO.
Damn. That's gotta suck for Xbox fans who wanted this game. Must've been a difficult decision to cancel it.
From what I have seen so far, I don't know why Bioware just doesn't call it Mass Effect: Inquisition.
Design choices by lazy developers. Similar thing happened from GTAIV to GTAV.
Video games are art, and 2B's butt is a masterpiece.
Is she about to crack some skulls with that bat?
