How was last gen brutal for Playstation fans?
The PS4 outsold the Xbox 360 every single year it was on the market.
And the PS4 has been the top selling console in the world from the time the Wii fad died off about three years into last gen.
Add in complete graphical dominance and the best and largest combination of first and third party games.
It makes absolutely no sense for things to be 'looking up' for the world le...
Yes, 7.5 is about right.
April 6th was over two weeks ago now. With the PS4 selling at about 250k/week that would put the PS4 right about 7.5 million right now.
The constant worldwide installed base numbers from Sony is really making the kid at vgchartz life miserable. He really has very little room to make up absurdly low PS4 sales numbers due to the constant updates from Sony where he is forced to bump up his fake PS4 numbers to just barely above the latest...
There is no guessing by the little kid at vgchartz. The fake sales numbers on vgchartz are carefully made up each week to give the best possible impression for Xbox hardware and software.
As many people who are on the neogaf forum knows, vgchartz was started by a 20 something year old Xbox fan who use to make up fake sales numbers back in the Xbox 360 days. The problem was that he was so hilariously bad at making up absurdly high Xbox numbers and absurdly low Playstation numb...
I just watched some footage of some epic battles from this game. Never knew anything about it before other than hearing the name and people being excited about it.
Now I see why. This game is amazing.
Man, Sony absolutely dominant.
Absolute Sony domination.
But that isn't the reason Sony did so well.
Sony has been the dominant gaming platform from the moment they entered the console market. Sony's PS1 created the modern console market with the 105 million selling PS1. It is hilarious to hear Xbox fans talk about Microsoft's failure with the first Xbox as 'pretty good for a first console'.
When the PS2 was released there were more games for the Dreamcast - Sony won.
When the G...
Sales drop in the US???
The PS4 sold just under 300k in January.
The PS4 sold just under 300k in February.
Since the launch month of December, Sony has been crushing the XB1 in the US.
The PS4 has sold just under 600k in the first two months of 2014.
The XB1 has only sold about 380k in the first two months of 2014.
Sony is outselling Microsoft by 50 percent in the US alone in the past two months.
The PS4 is even stronger than this article incorrectly claims.
The PS4 was over 6 million ten days ago and is selling at about 1 million consoles a month.
So the actual PS4 numbers are closer to 6.3 to 6.4 million.
And the article also makes the false claim that the XB1 sold 3.9 million by the start of 2014. The XB1 only SOLD 3 million - and SHIPPED 3.9 million.
The XB1 only sold 140k in January. 250k in February. 0k in Japan...
The PS3 outsold the 360 in its very year on the market. And every year it has been on the market.
There never was anything for Sony to turn around.
The only numbers Microsoft gave out was 3 million XB1 sold, 3.9 million shipped.
Microsoft has been completely silent since the start of 2014. The only other official numbers we have gotten for the XB1 is it selling only 140k in January and it doing incredibly bad in Europe with sales about 30-40k in January.
As of the start of February the XB1 was at less than 3.2 million.
Sony is already selling as many PS4's as they can manufacture so it most likely won't make much difference in monthly sales.
Regardless, the game looks amazing. With preorders of 600k it is certainly going to have very good sales.
Sad journalism?
The PS3 outsold the 200 dollar cheaper 360 in its very first year. Even with the bleeding edge Bluray drive diodes being initially in very short supply constraining stock near launch and the early months the system was on the market.
The PS4 is absolutely crushing the XB1 in sales.
The XB1 only sold 140k in the US and about 30-40k in Europe in January. That is less than 200k/month in sales for the XB1.
The PS4...
Man, Uncharted makes Gears of War look an entire graphics generation behind.
Yes. Really don't understand how people think it is even a possibility.
Trying to sell a cheaper XB1 without Kinect means that no one would buy the more expensive model given just how much Kinect is hated by Xbox fans. Kinect would be effectively dead. Third party developers would completely stop supporting it since the only people would have it would be the original XB1 owners.
And Microsoft has spent the past 3-4 years transforming a good portion of the...
We don't need Microsoft to release any numbers to have a very good idea where the XB1's worldwide installed base numbers are at:
The XB1 was at 3 million sold in at the end of 2013.
The XB1 sold 140k in the US in January.
The XB1 sold about 30-40k in Europe in January.
The XB1 has sold 0 in Japan.
Any other minor countries are not going to affect the totals significantly.
The XB1 is s...
Not only is the PS4 outselling the XB1 in the US by 2-1, and Europe 5-1. The PS4 is outselling the XB1 worldwide just by its Japan sales of 60k/week 240k/month alone.
The XB1 is only selling 140k/month in the US and about 30-40k/month in Europe. If the PS4 was just being sold in Japan and not in the US and Europe it would still be increasing its massive lead by some 60-70k/month.
The PS4 is already close to double the XB1's 3.3 or so million installed bas...
And since mcarsehat asked so nicely...
Looking back at Xbox history, the first Xbox failed in the marketplace with only about 23 million sales worldwide. Just like the XB1 it was dead in all console markets other than the US and UK. With the RRoD no longer inflating sales like the Xbox 360 and the much more expensive price, it is hard to imagine the XB1 outselling the first Xbox in worldwide sales.
Hard to call that anything but a failure for Microsoft and th...
The XB1 only sold 3 million worldwide by the end of 2013.
The XB1 only sold 140k in the US in January.
The XB1 only sold about 30-40k in Europe in January.
The XB1 sold 0 in Japan.
The XB1 was less than 3.2 million by the end of January.
So by 'all accounts' you mean random Xbox fans making numbers up.
Feel free to explain where these extra 100s of thousands of XB1s are being sold.

johndoe11211: "Ok, is it me or does it seem like every week the xbone always has a positive percentage while the ps4 always has a negative percentage and yet the ps4 continues to outsell the xbox one"
Because the numbers are fake and made up by a little kid who is a hardcore Xbox fan.
Asking why vgchartz's fake sales numbers don't actually make any sense is like asking why does MisterXMedia's absurd claims about 'secret Xbox One grap...
