Got MGS HD last week myself and am working my way through it. Definitely a good purchase.
Of the others listed, I think the main one that falls into my area of interest is Kingdoms of Amular, which I haven't paid much attention to for some reason. I should probably look into it.
That warrior outfit is just silly.
Actually a lot of this stuff is silly.
All I can hope for is that I can make Guts (from Berserk) in the character creator. That he hasn't shown up as a guest character in one of these games yet has always been a disappointment to me.
Reading this, it occurs to me that I really need to get around to playing F3AR. I played and loved the first, but found the second dull and couldn't get through it. I've heard the third is a big improvement. Sounds like I'm far from the only one who didn't give F3AR a chance, though.
That's a fairly substantial drop. Probably didn't help matters that its release was quickly followed by a lot of games that were just... better. Not many people are going to be looking for Rage when they've got all the games from November to work their way through.
A new Xbox could definitely be announced at E3, but it seems unlikely given the recent release of Kinect. For that reason, I don't expect Halo 4 to get a version specific to the next console.
In my opinion, what would make more sense for the console would be to release a year or so after the Wii U. They'd get an opportunity to learn from the Wii U and be able to put out a more noticeably superior product with the advancements made in that extra time. Thus they increas...
Eh, personally I'd be more inclined to throw my lot in with maybe Atlus or Konami, though I'm not sure I'm attached to any publisher enough to call them The Best. Atlus' handling of Demon's Souls has been fantastic, and their localization work is always top-notch. Konami has some cool projects in the works, some of which I'm desperately hoping get localized. When it comes to Ubisoft, I'm just not particularly interested in most of their franchises, and they have to...
Another example of characters aging that I like is Lucas in Mother 3, who goes from cowardly itty-bitty momma's boy to more mature possibly teenager? If forget his age. I think of all the one's listed, I like Snake's aging the most, because the game really reinforces it at every opportunity and just makes you go, "Daaaaaaaaamn."
I'm not arguing that how you look while playing is a problem with the device. People look stupid playing games regardless. I'm saying that with a Kinect game you generally have to sell the Kinect as a means of playing it. How you play is such a crucial part of the experience.
With normal games, we can avoid showing hardcore gamers how stupid they'll look while playing them, because the controller is such an accepted, familiar default method of interaction. If you ...
I think a big problem with trying to market Kinect to hardcore audiences is that I don't think there's any way to look cool while using it, simply because people don't generally look cool while playing video games to start with. This isn't a problem with controller-based games, because those games aren't about *how* you play, so you don't need to show that and sell it to the audience.
I would be very interested in seeing how someone could market the Ki...
Not really. They do all sorts of articles, like this for example: http://www.msxbox-world.com...
I think, to a certain degree, you want to call out the things you like when you think they're being dumb, because it's only through complaining about the problems that you can encourage them to do better in the future. I'm not sure I kno...
Haha that was pretty good. I approve.
I was saying Origin's combat was FFXII but less good.
I should probably get around to playing the first game, since I kinda want to play the next one. Just never got around to the first because I heard such mixed things about it.
Eh, DA2 was pretty okay. If you were playing on consoles, the combat was a vast improvement over Origin's combat, which could best be described as, "If they made Final Fantasy XII's combat less fun." If you were playing on PC, they mainly just changed the camera angle and the speed of the combat, making for a more action-feeling experience that left the rest in tact.
There were plenty of flaws due to it being rushed, and it wasn't just another hackneyed ...
As for the lowering prices bit, they should really take a page out of Steam's book and have huge sales. As it stands, Xbox Live can feel pretty pricey by comparison.
And this is why the November rush. I hate the November rush, but it's stuff like this that makes it hard to blame them for it.
I have been waiting for this day for a very long time. Finally! NyanCat on my HDTV!
Great list. The games really deserve the recognition, and it's good to see that they've gotten it.
Always good to see games succeeding, though it's rather sad that the vast majority of the time it seems you *have* to be a sequel to get these sort of sales.
Speaking as someone who wasn't a fan of Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 is looking pretty good and the people I know who've played it seem to be enjoying it. Definitely gonna check it out on release.
