Jim Sterling alone can be a huge major source of facepalm. I watched one of his videos, and it just makes me wonder what on earth is usually going on in his head.

Here's hoping for me waking up tomorrow on a working PSN! This is making me bounce in excitement.

Edit: Damn's it's a rumor. PSN is NOT up in Japan :(

I hope they find a way to fix this or ban these modders.

On the side of things, It's really hard to read on this website with a giant face of drake with makeup on his eyes staring like that!

Haha, this is awesome. Pick it up I shall.

That's the thing. Sony is taking their time to create stronger security measures and they are keeping their customers updated on this. Apparently some people in the comments don't care about these security enhancements... All they care about is knowing when PSN will back online so that they can go play CoD.

Very Sad.

@Redempteur -

Yep I did. I still have the backup as well. I'm going to wait and see what happens after I activate the account, once PSN is back online that is. Thanks!

True. I live in Toronto and there's a new Ubisoft studio that just opened last year. Some of my favorite games are being made in this country, some of them including the Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed series.

Seriously though, Microsoft does need something like this. They also need to work out a way to sort out the Games for Windows Live thing...it's a mess. I tried to play BioShock 2 on PC the other day, and there would be a patch required every time. It'd ...

I'm wondering...does the NGP come with internal storage? If not, then this is a needed feature!

Thanks a lot for all the responses!

@Redempteur-

I would have done the same thing. It (PS3) had begun slowing down, restarting every now and then and crashing from the game to the XMB. At first I thought that it was a bad disc or something.

Every game would soon start crashing on me. Some people suggested formatting the HDD but this didn't solve the problems, even if I reset the PS3 to the factory settings. So during this whole process I...

I understand this, but what if (in my case) you bought a new PS3 WHILE the network was down?

Speaking of backups, I managed to do a full backup on the original PS3 before it died on me. 57 GB of game installs, save files, demos etc. I got a new slim, put in a 500 GB HDD and restored.

Right away I noticed that the restore process was only taking 2 minutes...2 minutes to copy 57 GB?!? That's not right. I was kind of disappointed to see that after the restor...

I'm SO GLAD that Criterion games doesn't do the same with their Burnout franchise. Really, now all EA cares about is just making sure that their investors meet their quarterly profits that's it. Didn't a need for Speed game just recently come out? Before that, didn't Hot Pursuit come out last year?

It's like they've run out of ideas. All they're doing is taking ideas for the next need for speed project; throw them on the wall and if it sticks, ...

It's available on the PSN (before it went down) for $19.99. I wish I were online right now playing the hell out of this game.

They want it to happen but truth be told this won't happen overnight. Battlefield 3 will come out and it will sell well, but the next Call of Duty will come out and people will buy the copies like it's the end of the world.

People are so used to Call of Duty that it comes out every year and they go ahead and buy another copy. It's all they look forward to. The fact that Activision can make $300 mil from selling the game in just 24 hours speaks volumes about its po...

Indeed! It would be quite a relief. Still it won't change some people's minds. The fact that this situation got this bad and people's personal information was at risk means that it could very well happen in the future.

I took my credit card details off PSN last December and started to use their cards. Something tells me that once PSN goes back online, these cards are going to be rare to find everywhere!

Too...many...ARTICLES!

2011 was going to be an awesome year for Sony...they had it all planned well. Tons of exclusives lined up, new features like Steamworks, until some arrogant dude named GeoHotz decided to pick the innards of the PS3 and put this out to the public. Sony didn't take this lying down so they sue him and the sh*tstorm then began.

Hacks, more hacks, patches, attacks and the sad part is that the good honest consumer was caught in the cross...

@iamnsuperman

You cannot call him an idiot for doing this. There are some things that you are not considering: when Sony found out that personal data belonging to the users could have been breached, they didn't immediately alert the public. I believe they did this in to further investigate this situation and avoid causing a huge panic that could have turned out wrong...and that would have been bad.

On the other hand, some people did get hacked, so Sony ...

Isn't the media just wonderful? People are reporting this and hyping it to new levels every time. N4G is plastered all over with this news. It has gone to ridiculous lengths. BBC is doing it...even Forbes.com for god's sake! FORBES!

Thanks to the media, they are making this even worse. It's like a huge tornado of fire and all they are doing is adding more fuel and wood to the tornado.

Thanks to hackers, Sony has encountered a horrible year so far.

PSN Back Better THAN Ever, not PSN Back Better Then Ever. I HATE it when people make this mistake! For example if someone asks you if you are taller with comparison to a certain time years ago, you respond "Yes, I'm taller than then (that time)" not "Yes, I'm taller then then"...it just not right.

On the related things I'd rather have Sony take their time to further strengthen and literally fortify the PSN security from future attacks; instead ...
