I need help with this. Recently, I decided to upgrade my old PS3 80GB Hard drive. I did an entire backup using the utility in the system settings, prepared to replace my old 80GB with a 1TB one, but then I did the dumbest thing: I destroyed everything that was on the 80GB hard drive right after removing it, without making sure that the new 1TB is formatted and fully working in the PS3!

I'm not talking about their Kinect shovelware. See, Microsoft now has a device that is selling millions, like free cakes. The thing is, this device appears to be appearing to the casual market. So logically, Microsoft is going to put out simple cheap ass games to support it.
These games of course will generate revenue and with no doubt, people will buy them like a spreading virus. THOSE ARE NOT the games I'm talking about. I mean hardcore games!

This is very good news! Couple this feature with the upcoming Portal 2 and...well, you have a winner. It's these kind of features that I really want to keep getting from PSN as a PS+ user.

Same here. Don't get me wrong, it has sold like free cakes...the sad thing is Microsoft went ahead and said that the hardcore would be the first to buy Kinect...obviously Microsoft thinks that the hardcore isn't ENOUGH (too little to care about) or they wouldn't have spent $500 Mil on advertising campaign on Kinect instead of building some studios for games.

No not at all. 2 of them (which broke down) were given as gifts, and the other two (1st one and 3rd one) I bought for myself 1 in 2006 and another in 2009.
Through all this, I went through only one PS3 (60GB Model) and roughly 10 days ago, it died on me, and I got a 160 GB slim with a 1TB HDD about 3 days ago.
If it weren't for the 2 360s that were given as gifts, I would never even have bought another 360. I do most of my gaming on the PS3 anyway.
Hopefully they can take the time to design it this time and not have to make people like me go through 4 Xbox 360s in just 5 freaking years.
While they are at it, at least have ideas on working on some 1st party studios and make sure they remain commitment to them. So far most the exclusive in house studios that Microsoft launched with the Xbox 360 are long dead and buried because they decided to 'pull out'.
This is precisely my situation. A PS3 with both and upgrade and original hard drives, both formatted with nothing on them...can't use them in the PS3 as it needs the firmware to format...and currently it isn't working. Damn!
