I'm a fan of the original series but DmC was good. It wasn't quite Devil May Cry but it wasn't trying to be - it was trying to be a different incarnation of the base story and gameplay wise - it was fantastic. I found it a lot more enjoyable when you considered it its own game (and not a Devil May Cry title).
Didn't think I'd like it but it's very hard to put down - You should try it out during the free weekend (Isn't it still on for a couple hours?) to see if you like it.

I've always wondered when Dante couldn't make an appearance, especially how buddy buddy BN and CAPCOM are of recent. It would pretty interesting to have either Dante or Nero in the game seeing as it would be good cross-marketing and they use swords anyway!

Creating a monopoly is not good for anyone. They can charge whatever they like when there's nobody else that can appose them. Monopolies are dangerous things and wishing for one boggles my mind.

I wouldn't believe everything you've read. Reading the article, it's all essentially hear-say. The last I heard and saw, it was in Unreal Engine 4 (without Crytek's knowledge). Changing engines to a new engine then back again is stupid but possible. Moreso, it's highly improbable.
I don't understand why Crytek would get involved with a fan project. Pretty sure they'd just start a similar project on their own without having to deal with any legal...
