You would use the shoulder buttons to switch between your pokemon and you would only play as 1 at a time. It would work.
I would rather a pokemon game where it's an action rpg instead of turn based, and the face buttons are your 4 moves and they would have small cooldowns...would go a long way to change the series up and make it fun again for the people like me who still love pokemon but am tired of the same game being released over and over again despite whether new pokemon are in it or not...not saying it should be a major release unless it sells well.

To all the people saying it won't be good after all this time of being in development I say, Tetsuya Nomura has NEVER released a bad game while he was creative producer/director. All the kingdom hearts games, ff7: crisis core, (while we haven't seen a US release) Type-0, all have received at least an 8 on metacritic. Tetsuya Nomura doesn't make bad games, period. He is seriously SE secret weapon if you ask me.

I feel the same way about 6, I liked it more than I probably should have. It's by far the worst game of the series, but I liked the story enough to keep going. Microtransactions should ALWAYS be an afterthought. Look at neverwinter for example, just before we start throw out any prejudice you have against f2p mmos, neverwinter, or mmos in general. I used to like space marines because I was a warhammer 40k guy when I was a kid, so when someone did something like that I was all in. But now I would rather play as someone who is an ordinary person thrust into an unordinary situation who doesn't know combat and learns, than someone who is a grizzled veteran. Just my two cents.

I had one problem with it...no unlockable characters. That is where ssb succeeds...otherwise I think the characters are more interesting, and the gameplay is better than ssb. What is the point of having a story/arcade mode if there are no character unlocks?

They have probably been working on it for a couple of years now, thats why they are able to show something...on top of that I think it was more of a tech demo like versus xiii than a trailer...doesnt mean the game wont come out like versus xiii probably wont but its just showing what they have already. I bet all they have are the environments, the combat system, music, things like that...I bet there arent any cutscenes or we would have seen those instead like they did with xenoblade chronicle...
@MasterCornholio Monolith Soft is actually a first part developer now, but I totally agree I don't care about mario anymore, or zelda, I want things that really shine on a particular system...nintendo has been falling back on the same games for over 20 years and they are truly boring now, it's about time they get known for other games.
