There's about 3 or 4 PS3 games that use the full 50GB file size, not because they needed 50GB of storage simply because they contain next to zero compression.

Even less people tend to understand what is actually means. Sometimes refining an old engine is a better alternative then constant releases of beta ones.
Not to mention building a new engine around current gen consoles at this late in the life cycle would be beyond dumb.
