What is important when taking reviews into account is the site that is writing them. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a certain few that I can rely on for a review that is 'in tune' with the games I like or don't like. A site you actually trust for reviews.
And even then I take a gamble. No review on the net will give you a 100% review on a game for you. You will either enjoy a game or you won't. But trusted (based on experience) sites will give ...
I don't know about Xbox players but Heavy Rain and MGS were more of a snore fest because they had more cutscenes than gameplay. I want to play a game, not wait 15-45 minutes for a cutscene to end. Half Life 1 and 2 did more for story telling than either Heavy Rain or MGS did, and they didn't require waiting for a cutscene to end.
Not really. MGS is a shambles in story telling when it comes to games. Give me a well made story like Bioshock over MGS anytime.
'I can name ten games off the bat that look better than Crysis2 on consoles. '
Go on then.
'Would raver have gameplay over graphics any-day...
*misses the olden days*... '
I've been gaming since I had a zx81 and that old 'I miss the old days' is a load of crap. This gen has offered up a load of great games that blow the socks of older generation games, but you have the rose tinted specs on and can't see that.
Look at all the games that we have been able to play this gen, a lot of them were not possible on pr...
You see Far Cry 3 Hicken? That whole idea for a game started with the first Far Cry. Show me another game that did what Far Cry did before it came out, and tell me they didn't innovate.
'Well I don't buy their games. How's that? '
It means you aren't one of the millions that bought their games. Simple really. I don't buy a lot of games that others buy.
What are you trying to really say? Are you doing the text equivalent of blowing a raspberry at shutUpAndTakeMyMoney?
Because that's quite childish really.
The ps3 and 360 were widely available after launch, there was always plenty in stock. How are they doing now?
This article wouldn't last 5 minutes on here if it had ps3 or 360 in the title. Happy now Hicken?
This is complete flamebait. The site seems to have been made just to make this article and get hits. And yet it was approved.
A serious lack of quality control is in place here.

I want The Last of Us, but it doesn't look like much of a step above Uncharted. It's a different sort of game and experience, but it's not a night and day difference.
The only people who will be left with a bad impression are people who don't read full interviews and only concentrate on a small aspect of the interviews.
Look -
'Any of the content that I talked about, there’s nothing that we could pack together and ship. A, it’s cut for a reason: we didn’t think it fit, and B, it’s left in a state that is completely... there’s a term that we have called “rot”, in the games industry.'
Well I just read the article, and it's pretty much companies that make 'casual' games talking. Make of that what you will.
It doesn't mean they can't make a successful follow up to Stalker just because the original team aren't there. A new team can take what made Stalker great and improve on it.
The original team made a great series, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a lot of faults with it, the engine could have been a lot better.
They aren't the only good game devs on the planet you know.
What is it exactly that 'runs like crap' ?
'Puppeteer is a platform game from the maker of The Getaway and the Siren series of games'
Wasn't The Getaway made by an English develoment team?
Best game I've played all year.
Mini pcs have been going for years, this isn't the same thing.
'Why would anyone buy a digital platform? '
My pc is basically a digital platform, I very rarely buy physical copies. And I have more games available to me on it than all my consoles combined.
While I feel this game wasn't all I hoped it would be, I still enjoyed it a lot. 3.5 out of 10 seems very unfair really.
Yes there is. You can get ridiculously overpowered in Bioshock just as you can in Dishonoured.
The differences are mostly in the story telling and vibe of the games, but they are both great games.
Dishonoured has more of a Thief vibe, which is probably why I love it so much.
