All Sony did was scrap/shelved what was only ideals, created another studio with another ip Bungie had been working on, and focused Bungie on what they could actually afford to do.

They were already in motion when Sony acquired them.
The only aspect you are correct about is that bungie, themselves, are the go-to for live service decisions at Sony since they are one of the most successful live service developers out there.

Just because somebody sets up a structure does not mean fully fledged AAA games just exist.
It sucks this generation… but we are talking about a level they had set that everyone expects… can not be Microsoft and push out average games, stick a AAA price on it and buy content creators to sell their games.

If you only look at AAA titles, neither have released much… except for Sony, it is a slower generation compared to Microsoft’s decade of nothing new in the AAA department… anything “new” has been only due to acquisitions. Even then, nothing has been innovative or “new” in the sense of awe in gaming.

Cheaters were abusing gamepass since gamepass paired pc players against console players.
It was well known what was going on.
This is not a new install base, just a loophole being abused for cheap.
That and there was a reason Microsoft announced no more $1 trials were ending right before launch… for impulse horde purchasing.
The overall attachment rate is what is important to know.. of which is nowhere to found.
