False. Wii U is killing what it sold last year. Wii U is selling more in the US and in Japan.
Nintendo has more exclusive genres on Wii U this year than pretty much any system. Horror, Action, shooter, tennis, jrpg, on and on, a gamer can find something.

Considering there is an even bigger failure on the market (vita) and PS4/X1 are barely getting first party support, Wii U does not look that bad.
Wii U's "Lost" year? Nintendo still supported Wii U better themselves than Sony or MS supported there systems.
Even with the 2 delays, Nintendo has put out the highest quality games this year in Kirby, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and more. It is not even close.

And yet the situation in Japan with 3DS dominating is not going to change. Vita got PS3, PS4 ports, barely any exclusives, which is why it remains in third place every week in Japan.
Nintendo exclusives in Japan are typically announced outside of TGS. This is how it has always been. Nintendo did not bring its 3DS games to tgs, which would have boosted the number by 5-6 games.
