Remember when this site was for legit game news?
So you define a great game on review scores? If so I have bad news for you. Nothing could be more bias or 'incentive' driven than the gaming media review machine.
I use it as a rough guide only, many times so called average games have been great in reality. And many times highly scored games have felt 'meh' as well.
It's all bull$hit.
Promotion and hype are imperative in getting units sold.
Take Unreal 3 for example. The game is pure. It is truly amazing (if you like arcade style fps).
But only a few hundred thousand hardcore gamers who know about release dates etc are going to get it.
If it had huge TV presence an other media advertising, the majority of gamers would see it and decide if they want it. But instead, piles of crap like Madden will sell millions.
Sad but true.
I know it's a decent game, but I wouldn't put it up there.
UT3 is amazing, I just wish more people would buy it. Epic barely promoted it, and it is up against some heavy competition like Halo and Call Of Duty 4.

PS3 is certified. Download it, throw it on the ps3 hard drive and play it in your front room. No dumb ass streaming, and guess what!? You can hear the DivX file over the beautifully quiet fans on the ps3.

You have to realize the amount of cash and hype MS threw around when releasing Halo 2.1
After so much brainwashing, even gaming site noob reviewers think these games are solid 9's.
I have not experienced any lag at all. And sometimes I play on a server with say 120 ping.
Again, a noob reviews a great game. The mouse controls feel EXACTLY like a pc mouse and keys, so he's full of sh1t on that count too.
Between the XMB mouse sense control and in game mouse sense and smoothing, you can get it exactly how you want it.
This reviewer? A NOOB.

I love Cod4, but the maps are not as varies and UT3 has mouse and keys and tons of crazy game modes and vehicles...it's just way better.
I'm having a blast.
But the 360 does have better colours in my opinion.
The colours displayed by the ATI chip seem a little 'deeper' if you will.
And I'm not talking about contrast, or brightness.
Now before you flame me I am a ps3 owner. I don't have a 360, nor do I want one.
But the black and colour intensity is just not quite perfect on the ps3 chip as it is on the 360. This is the same problem the xbox 1 had last gen. Yeah, it had better res etc than the ps2, but the black...
Vehicle capture the flag is so addictive! Love the hover boards!
THe unreal engine still holds up as pretty much the best console gfx engine too IMO. (Incognito's warhawk engine can give it a run for it's money though)
Anyway, I love mouse and keys, and there are so many weapons, vehicles, game types, options, that is quite overwhelming at first.
I have been on this the last few days and the vehicles and map designs are amazing.
One problem. The server scanner keeps is only coming up with 4 or 5 servers each time I look for a game. I know there is way more out there, is this teething trouble like cod4 had in the beginning you think?
Anyway, this game is a godsend for me (old skool q3 player/mouse n keys)
and I love the vehicle capture the flag. It's just nuts.
You have got to try this game. ...
If you hit the d-pad, you can give squad or individual orders.
