hey Bioware ! You dont need fans/anyone to tell you that your recent 'RPG's are an embarrassment to the genre especially when compared to the likes of Fallout/Skyrim.
All you had to do was take inspiration from Morrowind, Oblivion & Fallout and you would have produced 'Skyrim' at least a couple of years ahead of Bethesda. Instead you got greedy & lazy and dumbed down your games for quick easy bucks.
Here's hoping you can produce...
no. & who cares.
Would Skyrim make a good childrens cartoon. Would Skyrim make a good horror film. Would Skyrim be good on the Wii... blaah blaaa...
Certainly one of the best & a pioneering game that was way way ahead of it's time. Having played it on the Xbox when it was released, I played it on the PC just 2 years ago and was blown away.
Very amusing seeing the 'COD/GOW/MGS FPS war brigade' commenting on this !
Playing on the PC, gaming doesn't get any better than this. Value for money is simply astonishing and the DLC & the best mods are yet to materialise.
Yes, Bethesda's programmers, testers & quality controllers are clearly sub-standard, but for the many who have known this for years & avoided early purchase or playing on the PS3, the issues are now minor.
In life, every so often something comes along that is a massive cut above the rest. Sky...
doesn't she give you her 'ring' everyday ?
amen to that, dude.
wait till you try the mods !
this seems promising...
Xbox 360 is focusing on the casual gaming market - why else would you try & compete with Nintendo by bringing out Kinect for kids. And now this.
Sadly becoming jack of all trades master of none.
what about famous cat characters ?
It's a bit of a chore to read the books though !
I'm now getting occasional objects & NPC's without textures - just a smooth bluish/purplish shape. Quitting the game & re-loading gets rid of it until the next one happens....
and the occasional CTD too.
fantastic !
nope.
but making a ridiculous statement that RPG's will forever be a 'niche' market when Skyrim & other RPG's are clearly mainstream as the incredible (and still growing) popularity & sales demonstrate is a fair (and accurate) comment.
seems to work for me - still getting the occasional CTD but what the hell !
Quote: "Cliff Bleszinski once said the future of shooters is the RPG. But it’s a two-way street. RPGs must learn from action games, and marry precise controls to their epic narratives, or they will forever be a niche product."
well,
Skyrims universal popularity & astonishing sales figures seem to render that little pearl of wisdom a tad inaccurate.
folks who play Skyrim as it's meant to be played & experience most of the content will take 2-3 months at least, probably more depending on hours put in per week.
the setting would definitely translate very well as would some of the characters but the plot and screenplay would have to be created from scratch.
the surprising graphical leap isn't between Oblivion & Skyrim, it's the PC version over the Xbox 360 version. I'm shocked how much better it is on PC - even without the enhancement mods to come - it's big time awesome.
As someone who loved Oblivion on Xbox & will never forget the grand vista moment upon exiting the sewer for the first time, I'm deeply disappointed with Skyrims graphics in comparison.
I've played the first 5 ho...
saying you're a huge RPG fan yet hated Oblivion (not perfect I know but still an absolutely amazing RPG) is like saying you're a huge sports fan but you couldn't care less about the Olympics.
So I'm afraid your views on the subject carry very little weight.
