played Morrowind on the Xbox back in the day and have just installed on my PC with the Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul plus other mods.
Still playing Skyrim but can't wait to get back into Morrowind proper when I'm done. Also it'll be very interesting if Bethesda produces Skyrim DLC that re-visits Morrowind as some rumours are suggesting...
only if he's silly enough to play it on the PS3.
hardly surprising as particularly ME2 was dumbed down so that even children could play it with their eyes shut.
I'm looking forward to Elder Scrolls IV: Temptation, Fallout 4 and a Bioware RPG that's actually an RPG.
If you never use spells/scrolls/potions/enchant ing then why an earth are you playing an RPG ? !
I play warrior builds all the time but use spells/scroll/potions/enchanti ng to add huge variety & customisation to the basic weapon types. Its what RPG's are all about. I doubt that you have even scratched the surface of what you can do in Skyrim otherwise you wouldn't have posted such a naive comment.
And Skyrim IS the pinnacle of game design as were...
you are forgetting all the spells, scrolls potions & staffs - they are weapons too you know !
suspect you'd be better off playing Call of Duty/Battlefield or some other FPS where it's guns, guns and more guns..
this is how mods should be enabled ! - I'm fed up having to piss about with additional installations/programes that only increase the risk of destabilizing everything & creating another layer of complications.
author can't have played Skyrim for one !

you haven't Interpreted the analogy properly.

First person shooters are a dime a dozen while open world RPGs of the quality & depth of Oblivion are very rare in comparison, so your analogy doesn't really stack up.
Either you're not really a 'huge RPG fan' or you only scratched the surface of Oblivion at best before giving up - so to say you genuinely hated one of the best, groundbreaking RPG's of it's time while professing to be a huge RPG fan just doesn't sit right.
