as soon as the prices are the same MS will only sell consoles to those that need a replacement for a dead 1. If you could get a 120 gig PS3 or a 120 gig 360 for 299 the choice is simple. Most would get the PS3 because of what else you get for the same price, built in Wifi ( add another 75-100 for the 360 ) free online play ( add another 50 for the 360 ) a Bluray player ( add another 199 MS doesn't have anything to offer you here ) more and better exclusives on the PS3 and a system that has a...
funny than a 2 year old PS3 exclusive ( Uncharted ) still looks better then any game available on the 360. I own both so I know 1st hand, unlike you who probably only own a 360.
just because they are clearing stock for a new SKU doesn't mean it is for a slim version. It could be the same PS3 but just with a bigger HDD. They will take the current 160 gig PS3 unbundle it and sell it as the core model and then make a new bundle with say a 250 gig or 320 gig HDD and a game.
I would say that is because those titles are around 30 bucks opposed to 60 for a new release especially since they cram all the big releases in a 2 month window which is just plain dumb. Same will happen next year and the year after imho.
noone has pushed the system to the max until their next game is gonna release and suprise it will be them to max out the PS3. As long as the games that are coming out look like KZ2, UC2 & GOW3 I don't care if the system is maxed or not, just gimme the games the 360 hasn't proven yet it can do like KZ2,UC2 & GOW3.
Gears 1 & 2 where only about 5 hours long for the campaign if you didn't look for any tags and just focused on clearing the levels. So that isn't bad for a DL only title,
If I can get the physical copy with the booklet and the casing for less anywhere local or on the web then the G.O.D. service is completely useless to me. They should be half the price of the cheapest physical copy available. MS is, has been and always will be a ripoff when it comes to things like this. They wouldn't even allow Valve to give the L4D DLC for free like they wanted to which is why I will never fully support MS and only buy what games I have to for the system.
I wonder how much Activision will raise their prices next year when yet another COD game is released. And I wonder how many fools will continue to buy rehashed garbage at higher prices.
While I am also tired of FPS after FPS shooter at least with a 2K shooter it usually isn't your standard military FPS like most others. Hopefully it will be more along the lines of the Darkness & Bioshock which are story driven with a variation of weapons / powers. If it is just another generic FPS like COD or KZ2 then please keep it and go back to the drawing board.
is there anything that wears the MS name that isn't hacked? It wouldn't be surprising at all imho.
I guess the Curling game will be #1 come winter time then.
"target for a release on the week of 19 October, but Shacknews noticed that Gamefly and Newegg - both previously listing the game for a 20 October release across all three platform"
19th or 20th whats the difference. A day??? BFD!!!!
no it will force GS to sell used games at a used game price but they won't go out of Business. Used game should sell for between 20-30 dollars and no more than that I don't care how new it is release wise. If GS sold used games for say 30 dollars then there is noway that Best Buy would be able to match it. GS will still make money seeing that they don't usually pay 20 for a game.
I'll take advantage of that seeing that my Circuit City account got turned into a Best Buy account. Except for any game that has the name Activision on it. I will only buy those used if at all!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, An uninformed consumer is MS's best friend!
the only company I feel is more deserving of a loss like this is Activision.
Bioshock 30 dollars & Oblivion 30 dollars = 60 dollars
Bioshock/Oblivion combo pack $36.99 at Amazon.com and you have the physical media so you do the math.
Or Oblivion GOTY edition with all the DLC like the Shivering Isles for 29.99 at my local game store. Again you do the math.
MS's G.O.D. is a complete ripoff!
it will just be more of the same as E3 with the extra time going over sales & projections for the year. I don't think we will see a price cut or slim or the GT5 release date until the TGS in September.
noone listens
same game with a new paint job. I will eventually pick it up used, it is just another generic military FPS that there are thousands of out already.
