I am not talking about attachment upgrade here. I am talking about following the phone business model where new hardware are release periodically and the old hardware still can run the same game. It is like buying a new Alienware PC rig to replace your old Alienware PC rig and not necessarily replacing and upgrading parts.

Options is a wonderful thing. Buy a single copy of Halo 6 on XB1, get a Windows 10 copy for free and the same disc can be played on a more powerful XB2 hardware if one chooses to upgrade. All with crossplay, achievements, gamerscores linked, etc.
It is not only consumer friendly but totally eliminates having to code for two vesions of the same game due to the unified and scalability windows 10 DX12 coding environment.

Xbox is here to stay. The upgradability of future XBoxes with The Windows 10 ecosystem with scalability will benefit the brand in the end. It is all part of the roadmap. As a XB2 in 2 years, the games and apps you buy will be compatible with XB1, just XB2 will give better performances....aka like a minimum requirement for PC game (XB1) and a maximum speced out version of the same game (XB2).
Current XB1 owners won't be left out because they can still still buy and play GT...
Well, to be fair, Driveclub was also delayed twice and over a year and the Online was still broken and many standard features like replay, car selections and rain efffect were still missing at launch. So I can understand the fustrating some people are feeling as a delay doesn't automatically means they can get all the bugs fix or add in more features.
But this is ND and I have the most faith in them and I'll be lining up at the midnight launch to get it when it is fi...
That is where mods on PC will help. On Fallout 4, it is pretty much the same but with mods and constantly getting new toys to play with, it prolonged the life of the game for me and many others.
I have no problem for ND, Sony or any one pushing games back as long as we get a great product in the end. Day One!
On PS4, it is lacking mods. ;)
If it is like Quantum Break where you get a PC version for free with the console version, then I'll buy it on console, but giving a choice to get a superior version with mods or an inferior version without mods and no crossbuy, then it is an easy choice. Wouldn't you have done the same if you have both a PS4 and a PC rig and have to choose?
Potentially you can combine a Star Wars Galaxy with a Star Trek Galaxy. Now, that would be sonething. Mods is wonderful and prolong the life of a game 10x.

The disagree is normal for any praises I gave on articles with a PS4 tag on it even though this is also on PC. LOL
If it has great mod support from the PC community, I'll gladly pay $60 for it. The mod creations will keep this game lasting infinitely longer just like GTA and Fallout. Probably won't get it at launch but wait a bit when the price is on sale and some mods are created first.
Mod will definitely make this game last longer. Can't wait to see what mods the PC community will come up with. Can you imagine creating Star Wars planets and creatures and spaceships!!

All your 3DS, 32x and hardware compatibility issues and fears are already addressed with Windows 10 as an OS on XB1. Windows 10 unified apps made that a non-issue due to how scalable it is from platform to platform and compatible with multiple devices.
