I seem to remember the original XBox having disc scratching problems similar to the 360 (a problem I've never had with mine, knock on wood) and it's most certainly not "dead silent" but I will say this, It's not as loud as a 360 or my PS2.
And I don't think we'll be seeing a "WiiHD" this hardware cycle either if the Wii is still selling the rate it's selling. Why would Ninty bother? They don't care what Sony and MS are doing and they don't care about HD.

I think what everyone is forgetting here is that I don't think any of the 3 care if they are in 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
The only thing Microsoft cares about is surpassing their original install base of approx. 24 mil (which they've done). Now they are focused on increasing their install base as much as they can before the next hardware cycle, when that happens all of the happy 360 owners will jump on the the next ge...
