The Last Guardian fell in battle a long time ago, so your hope is for nothing, folks.
If this guy would've had his way, then i wouldn't be playing D2 at all either. Too bad the old Diablo team left, because the quality went with them.
Of the 5 games you listed, only Demon's Souls and to an extent BFBC could be generation defining. Look into next gen, and see which games are following DS's example. It's slowly creeping up there with the influence it had.
Also, Rainbow Six Vegas didn't do cover system well at all.
I think most people miss what generation defining is. For example, the author mentions Mass Effect 2, but it was the first game that defined it.
Gears of War spawned a ton of TPS games, but not all of them does it well of course.
Heavy Rain - what exactly did it define? it didn't really do anything different, compared to other adventure clicking games. Maybe the illusion of choice they presented?
CoD4: Modern Warfare is a no brainer, beca...
Uncharted and AC didn't define a generation, but they were still well made games.
Uncharted was Sony's answer to Gears of War, if you didn't know.
Only Gears of War, CoD 4 and Minecraft can be considered generation defining of those. Oblivion would be defining the generation, if you want to pick one from Bethesda this gen.
I think Valve's goal is a long term one. One without MS, Sony and Nintendo's console market. This is crazy talk, so no one on either side will believe it. What that means, is that games won't be restricted by platform, so you can play any game on the market.
Valve is trying to push a platform, which will eventually gather all gamers as one (not time wasters on Ipad, Tablets etc).
I'm not a fan of QTE's at all. They're tolerable in most games, but that doesn't mean i like them.
Instead of adding QTE's, extend a scene or improve gameplay mechanics.
I'm actually pretty happy with the current state of information. It makes it easier to read between the lines, and point out what is and isn't a lie. This puts the pressure on companies to release a compelling product, instead of them sitting there counting money from uninformed gamers.
Games Journalism? Well, they're pressured from the industry itself. Many sites are being fed by them, so they don't want to bite that hand. I've known what to sort out for ...
Oh joy, it's another prequel with ''good'' intentions i'm sure. Seems like they're becoming the norm these days.
I'll definitely be getting DS2 and Castlevania: LoS2 on the PC. It's pretty much a no brainer really, because you know what to expect from the games i mentioned.
Asura's Wrath was okay i guess, but the ''True Ending'' DLC was a terrible thing to do.
Alpha Protocol needed more development time. It was simply not ready for release.
The Bourne Conspiracy was actually pretty good, but i doubt we'll ever see the other movies converted.
Split Second was great fun as well, but Disney closed down the studio making it. If they had a chance to make another game, it could definitely impro...
Well yeah, they wanted to stack the odds in their favor, silly. ;)
Obviously no informed gamer would take this seriously, because of this comparison.
The first time it was mentioned, i was already tired of this cross-gen thing. Not true Next-gen games, and the game has to follow the rules of old hardware.
Seems like i'm not the only one reminded of KoA by this. :) I wish they could've improved upon a sequel for that game, because it was promising.
The animations kinda remind me of a slower paced Kingdoms of Amalur. Overall it looks okay i guess, but i'm not convinced yet.
I'm just waiting for the developers to keep up with the progression. :)
This generation is more than a few years over time.
Yeah, it's certainly a strange way to do it.
You mean sites like Raptr? They've been using colour coding to determine rarity for some time now.
From left to right White > Green > Blue > Purple > Orange. Which would of course translate to common, uncommon, rare, epic and Elite.
I wonder if they're planning to change Resistance, because that was gamebreaking. Either way, this is 3rd on my list after Castlevania: LoS2 and Witcher 3.
