I am Jack's complete lack of surprise ;)
I agree I would give it a 9/10. I think the frame rate issues are fairly significant, not minor, the load times and lamp system having to return to the hub constantly are a drag, and the blood vial system forcing you to 'farm' for vials is a pain.
Still does far more right than wrong and is an amazing must play game for people with the time and patience. Atmosphere and art design are just fantastic.

Just summon some help and play in co-op. Its easy mode and will help you progress.
Love Bloodborne and agree with some of the articles points but geez. The writing is so pretentious. Who care about your 'frappachino' and 'exotic' tea?
Really you guys come across as jaded, with an overinflated sense of entitlement.
I agree the hunters can be tough. The guy with the Katana was insane. Even worse the 3 hunters at once in the Cathedral area near the unseen village. MUCH harder than all of the bosses up to that point.
@Bathyj Madness?? This is SPARTA...I mean BLOODBORNE!
Two hunters.
Minor spoiler!!!!!!!!!
Wait until you reach the unseen village cathedral and have to face 3 hunters at once. It is nuts. I could not do it after 20 tries at level 60 and had to call in some co-op backup.
Hey thanks but I'm talking about a much later area not Old Yharnam with the turret guy.
Much later a place called the Unseen Village gets crazy hard but like anything in this game if you persist you can get through. I got some co-op help to deal with the 3 hunters and managed to solo the boss on my second attempt (at the boss, not the level, I must have died 20+ times on this level, more than the rest of the game combined) so was pretty pleased.
Cool, thanks, I'll check it out.
So what is the best internal drive for the ps4? As in large capacity and fast but not costing more than the console.
Nice. I agree with much of your review the game is awesome and absorbing. As you mention, the art design and atmosphere are unmatched. 9/10 from me thus far.
My only issue is the frame-rate can get pretty shabby at times, particularly when co-oping and in PvP there is a lot of lag.
I haven't finished the game being stuck in the unseen village/cathedral for a day or two now. Difficulty has spiked all of a sudden which is also a bit of a downer. I loved the...
I destroyed the Shadows on my first try which was a nice change as every other boss killed me at least once, usually multiple times. I stumbled upon them and was really taken by surprise.
Really no guide needed for these guys. Keeps mobile, take out the fireball guy, then take one of the meelee guys, then the final one. Stay aggressive and use speedy attacks if you have them(I used the cane), and dash and dodge continuously.
Got him on my second try. Used the flamesprayer and fire paper on the cane/whip. Also got the help from the NPC hunter at the bottom of the stairs.
Just got slaughtered by the blood-starved beast on my first try. It was fine until it got to about a third health and it went beserk. Great monster design though, suitably horrific.
Time to try again.
Great to see another high score but Polygon is a joke. Any site that would rate TLOU so low is not worth my time.
@kstap33 Saved them $60 or scared them off, discouraging them from deciding for themselves, and meaning they will miss out on a fantastic game in the process?
@pivotplease He he, yes, I see your point, solely demonizing the game is not right.
Ah Dan, the guy who gave up. I remember him well.
Pretty sure it goes beyond poor judgement. I think you'll find much of IGN has had a thinly veiled vendetta against playstation for some years.
Yes, gone are the days where he was known as Dan the Man. He shall henceforth be known as Dan, the guy who gave up.
Indeed. I have coined the term 'Trollumnist' to refer to these hacks. Feels free to use it ;)
You should look forward to it, it is crazy good.
