'a free-to-play mobile game with item-based microtransactions'
That sentence makes me feel sick in the stomach for some reason.
Who cares what you think of what he thinks he thinks ;)
What have you been playing?
To promo girl in blue skirt.
Customer 1: Do you come with the ps4?
Girl: He he he, oh you.
Customer 2: Do you come with the ps4?
Girl: He he he, oh you.
Customer 3: Do you come with the ps4?
Girl: He he he, oh you.
Etc, etc.
I have a ps4 too and have always preferred PS over Xbox. Still eventually bought an Xbox, xbox360, and will eventually buy an xb1 as well.
The ps4 console is great but lacking in games at launch. I'm looking forward to the future though.
I get where you are coming from but I think the characters, choices, and story were much more interesting in ME2, thus my preference ;)
What you say totally applies to Dead Space though. The original was an excellent 'Aliens' inspired survival horror, whereas the sequel was an action blast fest trying to bring in the cod crowd.
Good list, some great games there. MGS4 was mindblowing at the time and still holds up well (apart from the loading and installs). Amazing game.
Have to say though I loved the original Dead Space, but DS2 really paled in comparison. Also thought Mass Effect 2 was a big step up from the original. Different strokes I guess.
To whoever wrote this article. You should read The Crysalids by John Wyndham (author of the day of the Triffids). Kind of relevant to your article ;)
East or west it's all the same to me. Good is good regardless of where it comes from.
Alice the madness returns had some of the best art design of any game this gen. Western developer (American McGee) using a China based team (Spicy Horse). Best of both worlds ;)
Thanks. Just thrown together off the top of my head. I could quite easily do a list of 50 great games from this gen, just so many great games out there.
Vanquish, Binary domain, Resistance trilogy, Suda 51 trilogy, BioShock trilogy, Saints row 3 and 4, The darkness, Dragons dogma, Demons souls, Dark souls, Metal gear solid 4, The saboteur, Condemned 2, Injustice gods among us, Singularity, Space marine, Portal 2, Turok, Bayonetta, Enslaved, Heavenly sword, etc, etc
Pretty good list but I like mine better.
1. The last of us.
2. Tomb raider.
3. Uncharted Trilogy.
4. God of War 3.
5. Mass effect trilogy.
6. Red dead redemption.
7. Catherine.
8. Xmen origins wolverine.
9. Prince of Persia.
10. Alice the madness returns.
@ayacurse: That is cool that you can play it with your son, you sound like a fun dad ;)
Its a decent game with good production values, but just weak for a Resident Evil game. Its still fun just not up to the high standards set by previous titles.
Great game, will pick it up 4 ps4 when it is 1/2 price or below. Full price is a joke.
Ah true, my bad, wasn't really thinking that through ;)
Is there a good 2TB drive available?
Uncharted, TLOU, and Magic all amazing games. Magic is actually good fun as a downloadable game, that's how I learnt to play it.
Motorstorm and resistance were amazing launch games, so much fun.
Motorstorm had such impressive graphics at the time, I played a demo instore and that is what convinced me to upgrade from ps2 to ps3.
They have always had 3rd party exclusives, see Quantic Dream and Insomniac games.
Great article. Let's hope the gameplay can match the pretty graphics. I really hope the game can surprise us and bring something new or unexpected to the table. I can't wait for this game, please don't disappoint me Sucker Punch.
Pretty obvious the game will do well. Its basically cod with mechs and increased mobility. It will sell well with the mp shooter crowd who buys x million copies of cod each year.
Not my thing, unless there is a strong so campaign.
