@BISHOP-BRASIL
Okay, so your a little late to the party. This type of exclusives goes back easily to the PS1 era and Nintendo and one can probably go back to Sega Nintendo days. Xbox didn’t start it , it was already a practice. Hell Sony locked Nintendo out of Final Fantasy way back in the PS1 era, before Xbox was even a thought. Nice try
@Lexreborn2 how do those games even compare to FF, Street Fighter, Call of Duty, Silent Hill, Spider-Man, and Batman the list can just go on and on?
Does this make Sony terrible? No
But is it all right to call them out on it.
Yes
Bring up Nintendo and MS all you want but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the Market leader does some under handed tactics that leave some consumers out in the cold as well.
Where Isarai did I say I was comparing the two? That came from you.
That’s the excuse people make on here every time for Sony. Instead of being able to acknowledge some of the crap they pull.
I guess we should all just turn a blind eye to it instead, because it’s not big enough of an issue.
It doesn’t matter what console it landed on first. This is a classic Sony tactic of locking out a game for a year. Everyone complains about Big old bad MS beating up Sony. But that is always very far from the truth. Sony has locked out Xbox players on so many games and when Xbox does it, you would think the world had ended.
@SonyStyled
I really think it depends on the type of game. A Minecraft game benefits because of its community style of play. The more the merrier but if they wanted to shut people out, all they have to do is lock them out of the servers. So it could be easily done.
Yet they allow a game like Minecraft to be played on Sony’s system.
Interesting point, but do you get lucky and replicate the success of something like a Call of Duty? I can understand with the current tech in hand, that to create something that people would just play year after year, would be a huge challenge and risk.
As far a MS buying them I don’t have a problem with it. My problem with this investigation has been the fact that the commission has only talked about how this affects Sony. Sony is not the whole industry, plus no other games that Activision owns has even been mentioned. A very narrow view. I would hope the CMA would look at the industry as a whole and not just how one company is affected. So far Sony has been the only one to really say anything against it (accept Google, though they haven’t ...
Well to be fair they have both pointed the finger at each other with some sharky comments. Sony playing on the commissions fears that somehow they won’t be able to compete, or be put at a major disadvantage. MS coming out with some bizarre numbers that don’t match. A lot of tit for tat kind of stuff. But all of this is to be expected with so much riding on it for both companies.
How is it anti consumer offering people a cheaper entry point? That’s actually a pro consumer strategy.
What you seem to be trying to infer is it’s anti hardcore, for those willing to spend the big bucks and want all the bell and whistles. Their’s a difference.
Obviously they are leveraging the experience that Bethesda brings in the mobile space. Nice to see them competing, which is much needed in this space.
Being able to play as the ghosts adds some nice depth to the game.
Add to that, we’re headed for a very probable world wide recession. But they are still nickel and dimeing us.
Interesting point about the cma. If true, them withholding info on their own deals to put the screws to Xbox. Could boost Xbox’s claim of Sony’s market leading status and using that to leverage things to their favor.
I agree as long as they give people choice. But the fact that a majority of the Titles don’t support 60 frames with the new systems is kind of ridiculous at this point.
It was definitely unique console and because it was this weird hybrid, that’s what sunk it. Plus they didn’t really communicate the strengths the console had.
But the article does quip your interest in its games library and how Nintendo used it. Makes me want to pick one up just to give it a go.
So about half the size of PlayStation but interesting to see MS figures vs shipped figures by Sony. Not sure why their is a big discrepancy?
To my regret I never played the series. A remake would be cool, from the trailers I saw the environment, weapons and just the whole package is very enticing.
Sony brought in over in almost 7 billion net as of June 30th 2022 but their game division was down from 2021. The point is they can afford not to raise prices if they had wanted to. But they know people will pay for it.
As for Sony going the way of the dodo is very narrow sighted. Yes, they would take a hit if they hadn’t raised prices, but they make money on everything from movies, music to sensors, television, cameras and the like. My other point is they are a very well...
