Bs on that, word of mouth only goes so far. Especially for obscure games that are decent but not ground breaking. Before Gamepass you would have to buy it to try it. Many indie developers have gained good exposure to their games because GP. You may not like the price hike but outside of that there is a lot of positives about the service.
Sure but MS has raised the price on game pass 3 times. Their hardware is more expensive than Sony even though they did no refresh. They really lead the pack, which might be a better way to put it.
First off I don’t agree with these price adjustments. Even though Microsoft is the worst of the bunch. This whole generation from the get go has sucked. Sony raising prices on consoles and games. Nintendo going all off on gouging their customers. But obviously Microsoft takes the cake. All three in my opinion have totally erased what made a console attractive. Price. You knew if you waited a couple of years, that the prices on hardware would drop. They would have platinum games as well. But n...
MS funded those games. So they belong to them as far as I understand it.
Honestly I’m tired of hearing about Phil. Isn’t It Sarah Bond that’s directly running Xbox? The guy needs to step aside and let her take center stage. It’s nice wishful thinking on his part.
I’m sure they’re ecstatic over how much money they all made.
Great, if we had censorship before, now it’s really going to be raining down.
On that note what ever happened with the censorship on steam? Disgraceful, pure corporate greed. A bunch of people looking for a buyout so they can line their pockets. I’m so tired of all the greed.
Sure we can point the finger at MS and point out all the mis-steps. But that doesn’t change the fact that prices have gone the opposite way on over 5 year old hardware. Come on….do you really want to defend and justify it? These companies and yes I use plural are milking it for all worth. Tariffs add cost for sure, but this much on aging hardware? I don’t buy it for a second.
So no surprise that Sony’s profits are the best they have ever been. Also Sony is raising prices ag...
I agree with your sentiment. A lot of the Big games we even play today came out of the 360/ps3 era. Competition is good for us gamers. Unfortunately those who campion on console over another are to blind to see what a big loss it’s been and will be.
Interesting review and very in-depth. While I imagine if you love their previous game then this will be up your alley. I can understand the criticism that he lays on this game. It shares a lot of the same mechanics as their previous title. Much like Ubisoft and Assassin Creed games share a lot of the same mechanics. But all that said, I expect this to be a fun romp regardless of the hand holding.
So this has nothing to do about Xbox. While I’m with you on their price hikes. This is about market leader Sony. They lead by a huge margins and yet have raised the prices on games and hardware. So not only are they making a huge profit off of games but now they’re making strong profits from hardware.
This generation is the very first to raise prices across the board. So does it surprise me they are making a crapload of money??? No.
Is it justified….No
Yeah it’s called raising prices and ignoring the traditional drop in prices. That’s what no competition does for ya.
Japan is an awesome choice. From mount Fuji to Shibuya, it will be a lot of fun. So many great places to ride through.
Underwhelming.
Hate to burst your bubble but while you’re right about some consoles being made in Japan. They are also manufactured in china. Also a majority of the actual components are from more than one country.

So you want them to exit with all the ips they own……lol
You’re obviously smoking something. Plain and simple. IGN was always a PlayStation site. PlayStation players easily out numbered Xbox players on the site.
Do that and the government can do anything they want. In Japan which I lived in for two years. The government has corruption like any other but that are far more sensible than us government.
@Hypertension140
Why is it you feel like the need to compare to Xbox? Not just you but others as well love to bring up Xbox as a deflection from someone critiquing another system. Honestly it would be refreshing if we could actually hold an intelligent conversation about a console or pc without it devolving into mud slinging. I don’t mean this as a personal attack but it would be nice to talk about the pros and cons of a system and stay on point. I know it will never happen...
@rudero
Yes you’re right about demos and the like. But there are so many games now. While I do believe those definitely helped. I think the very nature of gamepass leads to a different mindset. That people are willing to try something new that before they never would have gone to the demo section in the first place. Also, games are monetized for being on the service, where before they weren’t.
