I agree with everything you said, I think they'll raise the prices so people will buy into the subscription model. I'm not sure how that is all monetized, but developers have been excited about this. I could see a future where it's cheaper to purchase one/multiple subscription services rather than buying multiple physical copies. If this price increase happens, hopefully majority of us gamers could put aside our differences and push back on this one.
Okay, I'm glad the Last of us has done well. On N4G a ton of articles have submitted and approved. I also understand that this game controversy gets people talking....... What's ironic to me, this community flags other Articles for being old news or redundant but the Last of Us gets a pass. How is it that so many of these articles and reviews get approved when far less content gets flagged for re treading old ground? Why the disparity?
Looks tight, this game is going to be deep.
So I remember an interview from IGN unlocked with phil. he said that games would be allowed to target next gen only. That it was up to the developer. So, it does flip the script somewhat. But this type of game may be in the minority and the Majority would be delivered across the spectrum. Interesting
Agree, the Xbox version is much better and tells a cohesive story. The controller scheme for the Xbox was a little funky but once you know that it represents different factions. Gives it that emersiveness that fans will appreciate.
It was a good promotional name, need to bring it back.
I thought about using my computer as well, though I don't have a super high end one. But I like owning consoles, just something about them. But I'm with you on the reveal of the next graphic cards from both manufacturers. They're going to be monsters.
Depends on my finances, but I will be getting both regardless. I'll probably get the X first, then the PS5. But it will also come down with what will be offered by both at the launch. If Sony has something really compelling then I'll start with it. But I will be getting both, along with a brand new oled tv.
It's a revenge story in the vain of movies like Kill Bill. It is what it is.
Don't get me wrong I'm sure they want to sell as many as possible. But with a multi sku approach and PC combined with X-Play, selling alot of Gamepasses are just as important. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be pushing this strategy. As for the or BS I don't agree but as you said, time will tell and quarterly profits will also help give some insights. What I'm wondering if they're going to show everything in July or have another event in August? My bet is they will do...
I remember about a week after they announced the first one, a Sony rep showed up at my local Bestbuy to allow people to demo it. I have to admit, that it was impressive at the time and a hell of alot of fun. I'm sure the next version will bring it up to date. Possibly Half-Life Alex as a launch title?
It's smart for them to wait. They are seeing how the market matures and their augmented reality is more of a market for them. It'll be interesting to see what Sony does with VR this generation but the PC is still king for the experience. What I'm curious about, will MS new flight simulator support VR? That would be killer.
Agree, looking forward to those under the radar gem type of games from both consoles. You know since the beginning of this current generation their have been some really good games that weren't the big titles and I enjoyed them immensely. Looks like this coming gen will keep the flow of good games acoming
Actually I really like these type of games and it looks great. It's not going to be as nice as a triple "A" game but still looks good and game play also looks solid.
This would be cool. I wonder why they didn't come out with the game. unless it was supposed to be a tech demo. The PS5 should definitely be able to play it at what was shown from prior.
Just because people hate something doesn't mean it's not going to sell. Sometimes controversy actually increases sales because of all the chatter around a game. People want to see what all the fuss is about. Especially if your one of the millions that played the first game. Not surprised it sold well and I'm glad it was a success for the studio.
Great looking mech. I like how you can reconfigure it from light to heavy.
Agree, they used to be really good at bringing some big surprises, but this current gen has been a fizzle compared two the prior gens. I'm hoping what we've seen or know about is just the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully they will channel some of that past spirit and change that conversation.
@ spinesaw, I really think it's not as important to MS on the numbers of how many consoles they sell. I look at Gamepass, it's basically like spreading your bets. Your not putting all your eggs into one basket. They still need to sell well enough, but don't have to beat the competition in the category of most consoles sold. They just need to sell a boatload of Gamepasses.
Good review, The time traveling and paying back death is interesting.
