I just don't see it happening despair, there is too much money on the table for Sony to give up if they don't charge a premium to play online on the PS4. They see Microsoft bringing in over $1 billion dollars a year of pure profit from Xbox Live, don't you think that Sony wants to make the shareholders of their struggling company more money? I see no problem in paying this price as long as the service and features are top notch. Remember, we are investing in the future of Sony....
Or they will run a profitable online business like Microsoft and charge a premium to help pay for the Gaikai purchase. Sorry, I think from a business standpoint. Sony clearly sees that Microsoft is making lucrative $ from Xbox Live and that consumers are willing to pay for the premium service.
I'll bet that online gaming will not be free. If I'm wrong, then oh well. Lol
I think that online play will not be free for the PS4 and that is good, just make the social aspects as good as Xbox Live.
You have some good points zero, but you can't deny that the Wii left a sour taste in the mouths of millions of gamers.
I own a Wii U, I'm not bringing any bias with me to this discussion. I know the system will sell more when big first party exclusives come out. I'm actually playing Skyward Sword now because I sold my Wii awhile back.
Only time will tell, I guess I just have more faith in Sony and Microsoft. I feel they understand what most c...
Yea, I also hope that big companies like Sony and Microsoft can persuade ISP's to increase connection speeds. In a perfect world, Google Fiber would be available to all consumers. Lol
We don't know anything officially about the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but the word out there is that they are on a different level than Wii U. While we will shortly know more about PS4, clearly Microsoft's marketing strategy is going to be about reaching all types of consumers, they won't abandon the core gamers, they will go hard after casual gamers with Kinect 2.0, and will also attempt to market the machine to non gamers with their heavy emphasis on entertainment an...
I like the idea of Gaikai, but I pose a question to anybody who was complaining about the PS4 or Xbox 720 requiring to always be online. Doesn't it bother you that you can only play the games when online and with input lag during single player games? I have fast Internet, but I just don't like the idea of playing single player games with lag.
3rd party support for the Wii U will be weak, please explain to me how you think 3rd party support will ever be good on the Wii U? Before you answer, please factor in the new Sony and Microsoft consoles into your analysis.
I'd say Destiny isn't a game for competitive Halo and COD players to be honest. It's for gamers who prefer playing a coop with others.
The fact that you got a disagree shows how uneducated individuals on this website truly are.
How is this Microsoft's idea? The game is coming to PS3 and PS4! Such a dumb comment. Chances are very good it will be shown on the 20th from Sony's PS4 unveil.
Maybe Sony will show off what it looks like on the PS4 on the 20th. That may be why Bungie wanted to get info out about the game right before the PS4 unveil.
Nope, sorry, you're wrong!!! Too bad the PS4 and 720 will be out by the time we get to see this so called "power" that you are speaking about. Lol
100% agree with you on this one, you nailed it.
And in other news, drugs are destroying peoples minds.
The Wii U is not going to be successful Paul. It was critical for Nintendo to show the value of owning a Wii U during the 1 year head start they had on the competition and Nintendo failed MISERABLY. No one knows about the console or if it is even a console to begin with. That is awful marketing and Nintendo dropped the bomb on their chance to make an positive impression with the Wii U. Once the PS4 and 720 are revealed to come out this year, do you think that is going to help Wii U sales?...
In all honesty, who exactly is going to buy the Wii U once the new Playstation and Xbox come out? The console doesn't have the mainstream appeal from casual gamers and doesn't have the games that core gamers want. It is going to have very little 3rd party support and the only reason I own one is for 1st party games. It really is a disaster of a system, Nintendo severely overestimated the Wii brandname and did a horrendous job of marketing their new system.
As for c...
Get set match, Microsoft!!!!! Lol
Sony needs to persuade ISP's to increase internet speeds to consumers at a reasonable price. Until then, Gaikai will have a slow start, but it's a future proof service when internet speeds better support it.
